so i've had this under my hood since october 2006. this took alot of sweat,blood and tears. i'm starting not to car to much about my passion any more or my car. i havent been able to work on my car for a year since i got with my now ex bf (due to a restraining order) who like to throw my around, in which i weigh on 95 pounds, strangle me, throw stuff at me, spit on me and put his hands on me. so now i'm at my utmost misery and right now my car no longer please me. i love my car to death but i think i want a new car. should i sell or keep it hoping the happiness would come back? i have this car since dec 2001 and have been doing all the work myself along with the help of friends and family. the engine only has around 40,000 miles on it while the body, including tranny, has 150,000. what would you do? i was thinkin bout a mercedes clk 250 (i think it is, w/e the 2 door is) or a 2008 honda accord? and u know what i'm startin to wonder if there are any nice guys out there who dont cheat or hit you. all my friends have guys that treat them like crap, havent seen a good guy yet.

I say keep the car, once you get rid of it you'll start regretting it. The modding phase will always be with you no matter what car you get, trust me I just went through all the motions and started modding my car again its just a phase we all go through. Plus you have a 3400 in your car, thats sex on wheels lol.
About your ex being physically violent, you did the right thing by leaving him. A lot of woman never get a chance to do that, so you should feel proud of yourself. Don't take it as a sign of weakness or a loss, press charges against him so he doesn't do that crap to another woman. A few years in jail(if convicted which he should be) being someones bitch should enlighten the prick bastid. Just keep your head held up high and you'll overcome this hurdle.

Keep the car and give yourself time. Im assuming the break-up and everything was recent. You need time to heal all the emitional damage he did. Once you get past this, you'll be sorry you got rid of the car.

happy birthday! havnt seen you on here in a while. i think i would have to vote to keep it. damn nice car, with a real good engine in it. i bet its pretty quick too! i think, to maybe respark the interest, you could change something about the car. you could either change up something under the hood, new wheels, or do something to add something new to the car to make you fall in love with it again. good luck with everything!

well i was wondering if he was gay b/c he said he liked to watch gay porn and told me he'd let me put a dildo up his butt, b/c it'd be cool to try something new. so i think he'd might like it. he told me just b/c he watched it doesnt mean he was gay. he did cry alot, especially at chick flicks, was obsessed with his appearance and hair. so i think he sleeved up both his arms so he wouldnt look gay. all that relationship stuff is sorta TMI for my taste, but if you want my opinion take some single time and be alone for a while.
I see girls in situations similar to this and in the recovery time after a recent break-up, they just jump to dating a new guy and make the same mistakes all over again.
Sorry you had to go through that, there are good guys out there. But I say take some time off from the dating scene and maybe focus a little more on your automotive passion.
Like others have said, maybe try something new with your car like new wheels, new bodykit, or even a crazy interior.

Sorry to hear about the situation. I think you need to step back from the whole thing for a while & collect your thoughts before you do something you regret (aka sell your car, or sleep with AWD GS), etc....well maybe you could still sleep with AWD GS...he seems like he needs to get some.
But seriously, I wouldnt do anything for a while, wait til things cool down before you make any big decisions. You will never get back what you put into the car, and the money people offer you for it is NOT going to be enough to go out and buy your dream car or anything. Your work looks excellent, but modded cars are hard to sell.

Here's a bit of weasely life advice:
There's plenty of nice guys out there. You just have to make it a priority to find one.
Lots of girls seem to have a pre-disposition toward idiots for whatever reason. Probably because those guys are the easiest to find.
Once they get one... they then seem to want to stick it out and hope the guy changes or that they can change him.
What you need to do is drop this guy, and any other, at the first sign of trouble. A decent guy will never hit you, spit on you, or ask you to shove things up his ass unless you're into that sort of thing. If your guy hits you... leave.
You're better off spending your time in search of the better guy, than missing him completely because you're trying to make things work with an idiot.
This may sound cruelly inappropriate, but if he's hit you more than once, then you have to take responsibility for staying with him. No matter what sob story he gives to try to make up for it, that should never have happened in the first place. Find someone better.
