Here's the funny question. Will a cavalier be considered a classic car years down the road just like an old Camero, Mustang, etc???
no, but im sure it will be mentioned as one of the most popular car models and for many reasons.
And this is why I think to myself all the time, "Am I wasting my money with this car? Why keep it if it's going to be worth nothing in the long run. Shouldn't I buy something I can keep that will gain value??"
oh yhes eventually it will be a classic.a worthless classic but a classic none the less.kinda likke a 4 dooor slant 6 valiant.fun to play with but cheap
about as classic as a toyota tercel or a for escort.
GO PATS!!!
Frankly, 30 years from now when there aren't any left... it'll still be a novelty to have one around in good condition. Anything from the 70's is pretty cool these days if it's in great shape, no matter how craptastic a car it was in its time.
kept long enough it could become valuble. and it will be a classic wether its a top notch car or a piece of junk. classic status just relates to the age of the car, not wether it was a high end car or not. one day it will be an antique as well. but if your purchasing a car to be an investment there are millions of other things out there to invest your money on. investing on a car would be at the bottom of my list of investments.

If K cars can make a comeback, then yes-there will be some "classic " cavs...
I've been considering gettting a mid 80s vert-but they are getting harder to find....
And I saw a few 1st gens in the dream cruze.....
why work on something and hoping/praying that it will be a huge investment in the future. why not go to college and get a job thats going to pay off instead of going with hope.
and alot of people dont work on cars hoping it will be worth alot of money.....they work on them because its a hobby and its their personal touch.
OK I worked with a guy who has a k-car. Its considered a classic cause it meets the required age, its a convertable and in great shape. He drives it in the dream cruise and parks in on the side with all the notable "dream" cars. So any car can be considered a classic even a friggin k car as ugly and faggish as they are(not to offened any homosexuals in the room) but hey he likes it so more power to him.
I plan on keeping my Cavy forever.
I'm not planning on keeping it to be of value but plan on keeping because of all the hard work, effort, and modifications that will be put into this car.
To me, the lines of the Cavy (Z24 in particular) are timeless and look just as good today as they did when brand new in the market.
I'd still have my 1966 Buick Skylark if it were not for Mother nature deciding it was time to flood the car. Just like every other car I've owned, it's been things out of my influence that kills that particular project.
So far, this Cavy has been taken care of and hope to keep it long enough to have it last for 25 years +.
We'll see.
