On how to turn a car around in the garage that doesn't run lol.
My car is finally back home, but the tow truck dude put in with the front facing the garage door. I need it the other way. Without purchasing some expensive ass wheel dollies, are there other ways to turn the car around? Or am I ish out of luck?
A couple guys on my local forum suggested two jacks, lift the tires like an inch off the ground and drag and turn it. Hmm not so sure about that crap.
Ideas?

Ok my bad, I should of clarified, my house kinda sits UP off the street, so the driveway is at a slope for the most part. So bringing the car out and back up the driveway is a no go.
Although, I guess I do not have to go completely off the driveway, because half of the drive is level. I guess there will be a lot of back up and pushing forward lol.
Thanks man.

Could you rent wheel dollies from an autoparts store? A lot of them rent out a wide-variety of tools, including engine hoists.. maybe they have some you could rent.
Other wise your only other option is a 20 point turn in the driveway it sounds like.
If you could easily turn it around in street, you could use a chain puller to pull it back up the driveway if you have something to hook it on in the garage or something. I've used one to move an immobile vehicle before. Braced a 2x4 in the trunk and attached the chain puller to that. Worked flawlessly. Different situation tho.
1. Rent a Caterpillar front end loader with adjustable forks.
2. fork it.
3. place whereever you want.
j/k though seriously, Jazer has the best idea, IMO. Don't suppose you know anyone with a winch?
i work in a shop, we move vehicles around ALOT with two big floor jacks. Place them both in center of vehicle, start pushing around.
Your WHAT hurts?
Miss Jazer, not a bad Idea, Ill see if they rent dollies.
Cavaclysmic- lol fork it ftw... I do not know anybody with a winch tho.
Wheelerman- Thanks for the reassurance, I may try this if my 20 point in the driveway doesn't work lol.
Thanks again all!

ive seen his driveway, if the car goes down the driveway, no one is pushing it back up lol.
lol you're no joking..
Dave if you need any help just let me know sir.
Lol yea Jason and Jordan knows my driveway.
Well, it was too much of a pain to do the 2000 point turnaround(no powersteering) so I just decided to bring the car out of the garage and push it back in to one side wih the nose facing the garage door. I can still work on it that way, but without much light in the night time seeing my lights are hanging on the other end.
Thanks Kris, those are 20 bux cheaper than the ones I saw at Jegs.

I'd bought a set of wheel dollies and they were junk.
On a smooth driveway floor, they got into bind and bearings started spilling everywhere.
It's not like my Cavy weight that much and the rating on the dollies were more than what the car weighed.
These were the Advanced Auto dollies by Autolite and weren't cheap.
I did everything you're supposed to do and that's lift the tire, place dolly under tire, lower, and off to the next wheel.
Once done, I tried to maneuver the car, and then there was bind in the wheels. Next, came the sound of bearings from the little wheels spewing all over the garage floor.
Junk.
I never even took them back and just took the loss on the purchase I was so pissed.
Made in China sh*t is getting old.
Good luck though on yours though.

Agree infinity
Harbor Frieght has
WheelJacks & Dollies for cheap. No other way to move a car unless you invite a bunch of friends over and push it out and turn it around and push it back in, beer & pizza is a good motivator
.
^^^^ you can't "agree infinity" and then suggest Harbor Freight

that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra
scary to me. There's a large, out-of-focus monster, roaming the countryside.

I wouldn't put a chain near anything on this car.
20 point turn is what I would do.
Or...find a buddy that does a lot of offroading and has a winch. 9,000lb Mile marker will not only allow you to gently roll the car down the driveway safely....it'll pull it back up. My dad pulled a kid's Camry off a tree the other day with his. Kid's parking pin failed and he rolled into a tree...poor kid.
