After thinking about how long I've owned a Cavalier, it made me wonder how long some of us have ours.


My current two I 've since new are the 2003 ( 8 years) and the 2004 (7.5 years). Wow, that is a while. I think this might be interesting.


I'm thinking the longest owned J at the moment might be Laurie's 1st gen (1lowcav)...I'm thinking around 20 years are so.....

had mine since we drove it off the lot. feb 2001 so little over 10 years.

Had my '89 sedan since Dec. 99.

Got my 96 in 08, owned a few before that..maybe 7 years combined

i have had my 03 since August of 03 when i drove it off the lot with 86 miles total on it

First one/Second one were identical option, different colored VL Coupes from 1991(yes, 2 years before I was born). The gold one was sold in 1997 to help pay for a Buick Skylark. The White one is still going strong with 10k miles. Yes, you saw correctly. Ten thousand miles. My grandmother drove it to and from the grocery store once a week until her passing in October. 3rd one: Gold 2000 sedan: Tragic ending on this one. Bought in 2002 for a DD when our Plymouth Horizon(1988) bit the dust. Lifespan cut short in 2005 when a bimbo rear-ended my dad, crumpling the frame and totaling the car, bringing us to car #4(current Cavalier, my car). Ultra Silver 2000 Sedan: Daily driver. 11xxxx miles atm. so, I believe we can easily say 20 years here as well?

I've only ever owned one vehicle in my life. I had the Cavalier since I turned 16, which was 7 years ago.

Getting mighty tired of it now though

Nearly 11 years.

Had the sunfire for just over 2 years. Sold it to my niece. Had the cavalier for just shy of 7 years. Sold it to my Sister In Law. Will probably by the Cavalier back next year (if it isn't beat to crap).

Got this '96 in January '98...over 13 years!

FYI, on my third First Gen S10, that I've had for just over a year now. All three are/were 2.8L 60V6s with the 5speed T5. They were my original '85, then the extended cab '91 (traded in for the Cavi) and now the '93.

April of 2002, so 9 years...

My parents drove our 1994 Sunbird LE Sedan off the lot January 1, 1994. It's still alive and kicking after 17.5 years and 257,xxx miles.

4 years on the s/cd coupe, the vert for about 6 months; no nothing really compared to most of the members on here...

but I did pick up something special that will be in the other cars section once i make a little more progress on it though

i had my 99 z24 since 4/2008

I owned my purple '98 Z24 for almost 5 yrs. that car went thru a huge transformation so it feels like less.. sold it to a good friend, and it's surprisingly still kicking lol

I've owned a lot of j's over the yrs.. 10 or 11 since 2000

Both mine are 94s. I've owned the VL since Feb 99, and the Z since May 08. I also owned a 93 Z for just over a year, but all I did was part it out.

got my 96 Cavalier since september 2004 so it will be 7 years in september 2011

Owned my 85 cav since 1998.So 13yrs and this was a car I bought from my sister who got it in 1990.It is still kickin,and stays indoors,covered awaiting somemore restoration stuff.

I've only had mine for exactly one year two days ago, hoping to get many many more.
