Anybody here still a member that attended the 99 J-Bash?
There was a 99 J-Bash???
I think my first was 2001 or 2002...
I thought JBO wasn't even online until mid-late 99 anyways? How was there a bash that year?
.
Mine was 01, but I wasn't active till 04.

The bash was always a separate entity from JBO. The first bash happened before j-body.org was online.

Wait... which year was Indianapolis?? I know we did one there... I didn't make that up in my imagination!
pretty sure indy was 05, and was run by the same people so far as I know
not sure why it doesn't count as a j-body bash

You are right, it was run by the same people, and it was the last official "bash," but it was not a "j-body" bash.
Here's the gallery page....

Only made it to the '02 pre meet in California. Was fun tho . . . . Dave - I just looked at the gallery and realized that I've got to upload more pics to the 2002 California pre-meet section! Got some cool pics of the 17 mile drive through Pebble Beach / Carmel. Also for some reason it loops the pictures twice thru . . .
Jason - does your car still look this good?
Mine needs new paint really bad . . . body is still really straight tho and not a single crack on any of the dash pieces . . !

05 was official, just not j-body, it was expanded to all GM small cars. 07 and 08 were not run by the Schillings, therefore not official bashes.

I wish I could remember why I didn't make it to the CA pre-meet. It was probably something stupid. If you have pics hook us up. Throw them up on dropbox or something and send me the link, or I can give you an FTP login if you need.
As for the looping through pics, there are a few bugs in the gallery right now, and also I hate the way the whole thing works. I'm in the planning stages of a major redesign, so I'm not fixing any bugs other then critical ones for now.

Prior to this website there were a couple of listservs that everyone subscribed to. It was a long time ago, so my memory is fuzzy, but I know Phobia was the coolest. There was also onelist, though I don't remember much about that one.

j-body@onelist.com messages are still in the archives on the Yahoo J-body message group
All the way back to 1998, which is when I was considering my first J-body... I still have an old email from Tim DiRocco, who was one of the God-like moderators there... at least, he gave out lots of good information..
yes the email list, god does that bring back memories.
having hundreds of emails everyday to go through.

Man all the memories, I've been around since 2000 and my first was Ohio I think 01, then I missed the one in St. Louis I think that was 03 I went away after that then came back in 05. Indy was in 05 it was 30min away from my home. I still have my super street magazine from 99 when they had the j-body bash and they covered it in the magazine. Man that was back in the day.
A J-body owner since 1998

Never made it to one, but I've been here since then. When I first signed up, I remember seeing the post for the 99 bash, then I saw the pics afterward and wish I could have gone. There were a lot more people here then. It was truly a bash.
The funny thing is that I recognize a few cars from those pics.
