Been a member for over a decade. Still have my rare 97 Sunfire SE with a LD9. Although the izuzu tranny has failed time and time again, and although Ive learned a lot here and that car was as fast as stock 4.6 mustangs back in the day, Ive moved on.
Ive got a classic fox body Mustang I am keeping up along with 3 motorcycles now. Sure I was a mechanic but I learned a lot from this site. Although I was young back then. Took me some time to learn how trolls worked. But I know more now then anyone back then. Ive learned so much. I dont have to ask anyone about cars anymore. I just know. About almost anything.
I remember how everyone was saying J-bodies are dead... and they are right. But this site still exists. Sure it looks nothing like I remember but it still exists. Although I was an active member like 15 years ago. I see the 200 post limit. Is that still for AG?
I mean come on.. is AG still a thing? LOL
But I dont know and I applaud you for keeping the site alive. I really miss this place but ive moved on. Ide like to come back and help the ridiculousness new people, but with the post count I dont see why. Good on you for keeping the site alive and I really do miss you, But Im just going to check in every few years and see whats going on since its the same old ways with a new skin. Dude just advertise more. But with that.. I do miss the days of DDO
Man, I wouldn't worry too much about the post count...not sure anyone even its that anymore....
There are some reasons to stay, as there are still some builds going on, and like you said-give a newb some info every now and then...
I am still on here from time to time, just not as much due to a house and family....but somehow I still have a few Js, and always had some sort of J around since 1996!
One is getting up there, but still going! Other is doing well for now....
Oh, I remember those troll days....

Actually just got another j body. Gonna try to prove that they are far from dead and can make more than a drag car...
Stay tuned...

Glad to see a site like this still around for our j's. Wish i was around sonner bk in 97 when i got my first cav. We had dial up internet bk then so wasnt the best experience for anything on the web. Us newbies and I'm sure just about everyone still needs to fix or modify j's. Maybe it'll repopulate once they become antiques lol. But yes glad to see this is still here for us enthusiasts

We had some fun and crazy times back in the day here on the .org.
From the GM Plant tour and Lordstown.
To Cookie Monster breaking engine racing vette on the highway and then rebuilding it all in the hotel parking lot.
Then the big race between Cookie Monster and Evil Z24.
The southern J Bash at Myrtle Beach.
Nopi Nationals in Atlanta Kicking it with John Marshall Higgins and all of the other J Owners that came down.
Seeing Matt Teske pull up in person in his highly modded out cavvy.
Too many GREAT memories to recall.
We've all grown up, got families, and moved on to bigger and better things. But I still check in here from time to time just to see what the new younger kats are up to.
Good job with maintaining the site Dave, cudos to you.
And on to my new project. I still have a need for speed!!!

The site still gets quite a bit of traffic, believe it or not. People just don't post as much as back in the day though. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. I think that means a lot of people are actually searching - something we really struggled with getting the newbies to do back then.
I have opened things up some to regular members. Post limits have been doubled, file uploading is available to everyone. AG still exists, and will always remain premium-only (for obvious reasons, those that have been premium will know what I mean). The site is doing OK for the most part right now just based on ad revenue, so premium memberships aren't strictly needed. Still I think I will do a few things, possibly even lowering the price, so those that really want to support the site, and be recognized for it, can do so without having to shell out that much money. Maybe an ad-free tier? I'm open to ideas.
