I have a PDA and was wondering what is available for software to use as a scan tool for my Cavalier(and other cars for that matter). My knowledge with PDA's is limited at the moment until I become more familiar with my new found product. I know the software is out there for laptops, but I still don't know where to look and whats good. All information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Why to Civic children think they can beat a motorcycle?!?!
If GM would be kind enough to give us the signal specs we could make one.

You won't find anything for free, or even close to it.

It doesn't need to be free. I just need suggestions on what's a good product to go with for the software. By the way, I'm using Pocket PC, so it needs to be compatible with that.

I've been looking for the same thing Jason but I can't find anything worth the money. Any programmer with the signal/data specs could make something for you in a month... myself included. I have a feeling the high prices may be from a licensing fee paid to GM. Anyone here have more details?
Personally I am installing a custom controller in the car and I would be very greatful if anyone could enlighten me on the interface specs for the scan tools.

I'm writing a scan tool myself, trust me, unless you put in 80 hour weeks, there is no way you'd take it from the ground up to a full featured scanner in a month.
If GM documented the specs, it could be done easily. It's not a complex thing if you program hardware level devices for a living. I'd guess most of your time is spent reverse engineering. Thanks for the link though (http://www.obdproject.com/) looks like a lot of hard work went into this. I'm looking forward to joining the community in the future.
