AHHHH!!! Wierd clicking noise.. when i start up the engine, it sounds like something is knocking, but when im driving i dont notice it as much.. i was thinking it was something with the belts but i couldnt find a thing wrong with them. It sounds like valve knocking, but im not sure. Anyone had this problem before? Or any guesses that i could use to troubleshoot this problem?

What engine? Low on oil? Maybe a rod bearing or a main bearing?
is that lifter knocking harmfull to the engine? I know its annoying as F*ck.. but is it harmfull or can i wait to get it fixed?

Is it loud or quiet? Did it start suddenly without reason or has the engine been worked on recently? How many miles are on the engine?

alright.. well i went and got it checked out.. turns out the idiots that did the last oil change ( wasnt me.. ) used filter pliers to tighten the filter.. and in the same process ripped a pin-head sized hole in the filter.. which was spewing oil all over my engine.. hence the burning smell, and the fact that i was 2.5 quarts low when i pulled in. So i had the dealership replace it and clean up the engine.. all for the price of free. But the tech there told me that the clicking sound from the engine ( it was the lifters btw.. ) is from low oil.. but for some reason my check oil light didnt come on.. i think its a bum sensor.. so i gotta replace that. Just thought i'd update you guys. Thanks for the help.

but your oil pressure light shoulda flashed around corners
