If I wanna quiet down the car a little and give it a deeper tone am I better with the 22" or the 18" not sure.how much of a difference the sizing will make... Thanks in advance

Car is a 99 cavalier, cai, headers, magnaflo cat, and full 2.5 exhaust into a dynomax muffler.

ive had real bad luck with magnaflow cats, they love to break apart. I have found that the quietest exhaust system which the best flow on an N/A engine, is 2.5 piping, and a stock LSJ (cobalt ss supercharged) muffler. Those are dyno proven to flow the same as a magnaflow muffler without all the noise and rasp. .

I'd also replace the stock resonator with a Flowmaster Hushpower 2 muffler (the only reason why i didn't, is because i have a cutout, and did not have room between the cutout and gas tank.

Does the length of the resonator have an effect on the tone of exhaust.. Like does one sound deeper then another

Yes the longer the res the lower sound you get.

Want hub spacers rear disk brackets or trailing arm bushings? Shoot me a PM.

Does a bigger longer (glasspack) resonator have any effect on killing performance for being to big? If not y not go from header back with glasspack exhaust piping and then your muffler at the back? Wouldn't this help, but consider how much more your exhaust would weight.

What a resonator will do is is remove the treble and add bass to your exhaust system's sound. In other words, remove high pitch sounds and trade it with resonance. In our cabins, depending on the muffler, you might get more of a drone.
Now what you want is a perforated resonator, NOT lovered-- which will hinder flow.
