Need new struts
Monday, November 28, 2005 9:11 PM
Hey guys,

I need some new rear struts on my 97 sunfire. I am wondering what kind I should go with, and where any of you have found good prices around Ottawa.. I'm looking for stock replacements as my car is just a Daily driver, nothing fancy.

Thanks in advance!

Kyle

Can't really go wrong with most of the credible brands. KYB and Monroe both come to mind.

i know you as i probably would if my car were new enough, want to go with new parts... but just want to state something... i have the goldline springs with koni shocks to lower my car and last year it was a pain in the winter to be lowered.. so this year i went to wrecking yard and got the whole suspention.. all bearings all springs and all struts and shocks.. so i just swapp it for the winter... the 4 corners for 120$.. it was off of a 2001 but the guy said if i wanted to wait he could have gotten me an 03 or 04 for 200$.. just a thought.. concidering you'l pay close to 200 for just rear shocks.. i'm sure if you only get the back you could get it for 100$ at wrecker with new mounts and all out of a 03 or 04 cav.. like i said, just a thought

I have stock rear struts.. there's about 100,000 kms on them.. with mounts.. they're yours for free if you come pick 'em up, but I know they aren't quite what you're lookin for.

Just some advice... ensure you get an alignment whenever you do that swap.

You forgot to write "...in Sudbury"

Here in Ottawa it's awesome.. all the major roads are cleared within 2 hours ending of a major storm.. and residential roads are done within 24 hours. Plus we don't have craters in the middle of our roads I didn't have a problem with being lowered all year, and also didn't visit Sudbury much
