This is for anyone that knows Hamilton at all. I heard there was this park in Hamilton that was pretty big and people have died there toboganning or snow boarding down the hill. I believe the guy told me its either Barton or King St. Its suppose to be the biggest park in Hamilton. If someone could tell me exactly where it is that would be great. I plan on tobaganning there with some friends for fun. Thanks
Umm.....Lowville park = massive, and it has a really really big/ steep tobogan hill. (outside Burlington hamilton)
+ Kelso Park has a big hill. (outside hamilton/ Milton area.
I beleive there is another huge one in Hamilton.. but I havent lived around there in 6 years....

Well the biggest park here in Hamilton is probably Gage Park.....I dunno about toboganning though, i'm pretty new to the city.

On the basis of these conversation, I'm assuming the hill is so steep and dangerous that they died while sledding on it.
And hell yeah... I'd want to do it too.
Barton or King? thats gotta be gage park. I used to live near there...i dunno where you would go toboganning though i remembered it being pretty flat...alot of ppl go to the rez on greenhill...thats a fair sized hill
oh, theres kings forest golf course...thats not far off king...some big hills there...but i dont know about ppl dying..never heard that

We have weekly meets in Hamilton when the weather is nice, you're welcome to come out
DAAYYMMM--wish I'd known about that when I still had my 2000 Sunfire.
as for good hills, there is chedoke and kings forest (both kinda close to king st--chedoke is in the west end, kings forest is in the east).
There is also something of a decent hill at princess point--some kid got impalled on a fence post there about 5 years or so ago. I do recall something about somebody earning a darwin award for crashing head-first into a ski lift tower at kings forest about 20-25 years ago.
BTW--both chedoke and kings forest are popular for parasailing in the summer, so if the the hill is big enough to jump off of, its big enough to get some serious speed going on a sled.
Rice.....Part of a balanced Pontiac diet.
... weekly meets? post when this is gonna go down, id like to come out and see what its like
^ Every thursday night in the Fortinos plaza at the corner of Upper James and Rymal
When the weather starts gettn nice and I got some time I'm there. Let me know when these are statring up.
I don't know about near barton or king but the chedoke hills have killed plenty of people. I'd don't know if its still in use for skiing or not but we used to get chased off of there all the time late at night.
I'm trying to think of where and if it would actually be in hamilton or ancaster or stoney creek since thought streets pretty much run into them.
I think there is a big hill at battle field park that is technically king st. Either way it would have to be on the escarpement and there are plenty of open areas that could be used as toboganning. There are spots at kings forest where there are few trees and you can come down the escapment but thats not a park its a golf course, as is chedoke.
There are spots along bernie arbour stadium which is probably the biggest park in the city but its on the mountain and no where near barton or king. I do see people parasailing there too in the summer. I'd have to check my map but I'm pretty sure that the parasailers jumping from the stadium park land on or near kings forest. The park the stadium is at does have a name I just can't think of it. I think thats what he was talking about.
I'm think but thats the best I can come with.
