I don't care what any of the "down with censorship" and "right to speech" people say, I think that gangsta rappers like 50 are a plague on society and do nothing but promote violence and criminal behaviour to line their own pockets and those of their handlers.
I think it's a sad shame that theirs is the message that our younger generation is relating to and making their own.

I choose Eminem by a long mile! He knows how to get into the press, and knows how to control the press he gets. He raps about things that are real to him and things that make people laugh. As well he is a real rapper that can rhyme and battel with the best of em. 50 on the other hand just seems so made up. His career is based on him trying to look more hardcore then he really is. And all he talks about is getting shot. He has cheesy beats and even cheesier lyrics to go with them. To me he is more pop then hip hop. Put best in his own words, I think that 50 is a "wanksta".

tupac is the greatest to ever bless a mic, period. and short hand redman ISNT a member of wu tang, but he is a dope rapper none the less... and i see u like jedi mind tricks aswell, i've got all 4 of their albums, violent by design is the best tho IMO...

Decent list other than that........ I'd add Common and Mos Def to the list as well as B.I.G..... but I too would leave out Pac, he's not my cup of tea.

JUST a note to anyone, LISTHEN to Maestro's new album, I found it quite good. + When I talk about his good stuff, I mean 89-91. he had some pretty bad @!#$ years up until now... (Lyricism is top knotch again...No more 70'"s canadian rock song remixes....)
Blah..... my mistake on the redmen thing..(insert retard smily here)..He never did an album, only a couple singles with them (redbull).....BUT, he if I am not mistaken considred part of the wu tang clan, considering it is what like 350 + members (95 % of which do not rap...they are just part of the clan....I can't explain it...)M.Man, GFK, ODB, raekwon, ID, TG, RZA,TC, UG,MK are the "core members" if you will...
