I looked up the black book price of Mat's 99 Z24 with half you mileage and it was right around what you're asking.

With that in mind... you'll probably want to either just drive it into the ground, or wait for one of those "we'll give you a grand for anything" trade in deals.

Sorry to burst your bubble but a 97 2.2 with over 200k km's on it just isn't worth anything.

To be honest... I'm really not sure what to tell you. Once a car is worth less than $2k... it's really a matter of just getting whatever you can for it. I guess it depends on how fast you want to get rid of it or how badly you need the cash.

If you can sit on it for a while, just post it up and hope for a good offer. If you really need it gone, I'd ask for a grand and then just hope someone takes it.

im not wanting it gone so bad im just looking for a newer model cavalier z24 and theres no point in having two cavaliers...so im trying to sell this i mean honestly i wont go less than 2000 as is or 2100 cert and e-tested it can pass cert and emission and i mean 2100 for it to be cert and e-tested i think is a good price..it comes with clear corners a pionner cd player a k&n air filter and i changed the water pump and put new front rotors on last year i have winter tires...

Been busy sanding, and doing bodyuwork on the car for paint trying to get it all ready for the big JCO bash coming up. They are actually still in my back seat ! lol. But they are doing fine.

Have you got the new car yet? What are you being offered for it as a trade-in?
