Yesterday I did the spring install on my car and the bearing pack on the front left upper seat came apart and bearings scattered everywhere. I managed to find all but 3 of the bearings, they either went down the floor drain or they're just out of sight. I cleaned all the bearings, cleaned the two ring halves and repacked the assembly with grease and put it all back together. I drove around for a while and it all seems okay, but I want to make sure I'm not doing something that's gonna come back to haunt me. If I need to I'll buy another assembly but yesterday none of the dealers were open so I dind't have much choice.
I'd replace the mount. You're not gonna wreck your car by waiting a week to do it, but I'd do it as soon as you can.
Get it done ASAP and then get an alignment.
I'll be fine, it will just wear out quickly.
So is it the whole mount that has to be replaced or just the ring?
The bearing comes with the new mount. I don't know if they can be bought seperately.
You can pick up a new bearing at Napa for $20. I'm sure you could find it at other stores too.
