Car Sliding

While on the highway car tends to slide. The car has a blown tokico rear passenger side strut and also needs a wheel alignment. Would this be the cause of this.

is the wear uneven? I would fix the strut, get an alignment and go from there. Fix the obvious and post back.

are you turning or braking? More detail of what exactly you are doing to make the car slide would be helpful

What do you mean by "slide"? I can't really picture how a car might "slide" on the highway. In my mind, sliding is losing traction and having the tires skid in some direction you're not intending, either sideways or otherwise. That really doesn't happen unless you're driving beyond the limits of the car. Not just "while on the highway".

Is the car pulling one way or the other when trying to go straight? Can you describe exactly what the problem is?

I'm with WildWeasel on this one. Sounds more like pulling to me.
Also, as acidburn said, fix the obvious first then go looking for other things.

I know the car needs an alignment because i drop it 2 inches and have 17' rims and never got it aligned. When I say sliding the car feels like its going sideways!

Sounds like pulling. Also check the tire pressures.

Again... what does that mean? Does it seem to be going sideways or is it actually going sideways? Is it pulling or is it doglegging? If you let go of the wheel, does it keep going straight?

I think I speak for everyone when I ask how fast are you going when you feel the car "sliding"? I know if I do 100 in my car around a bend im lucky to live. Fix the obviously broken parts on your car then feel it...its like having a toothache and going well I have a cavity but it could be an ear infection causing the pain.

The car is actually going sideways and when i let go of the steering wheel it pulls to the left!

Read the FAQ...Unless you had D-Specs, that's probably why you blew a strut, and if you put the GR2's on, you could be setting yourself up for the same problem. Also, don't go modifying your suspension without getting an alignment. You have safety issues (steering response is diminished), as well as major wear issues. Not only will your tires wear badly without an alignment, but you will put more stress on other components, such as wheel bearings. It's said on here all the time, but don't cut corners, you will only regret it later and end up spending more money.
