I bought this cavalier with rk sport lowering springs.. anyway it is incrediablyyyy bouncy almost gives me a headache. I was just wondering what i can do to solve the problem my first guess was that they didnt cut the bump stops? im not too sure on these cars tho. Im bout to get some stock suspension if i cant fix it for cheap.
any input would be nice thank you.
are they on stock struts? they probably are and they are blown
I agree it sounds like your riding lowered on stock struts. Not a smooth ride, I know.

blown strut you will need to get D-Spec or Koni if you want a decent ride if you buy stock replacement you are wastign your money. Bump stop are not going to help you.

ive rode on blown struts and lowering springs on stock struts before. its bad but not this bad.. i can see this coming from some cheap ebay springs or someone who cut a coil.. i have no idea i just bought the thing to sell maybe ill slap some stock springs on atleast the ride cant be that terriable with those.
what cars have you rode in that the ride is not that bad. Because some car their suspension geometry does not give you a ride like in a cavalier.

Why does this question continue to come up, and people don't want to hear the answer? @!#$ty springs will not give you a bouncy ride. @!#$ty struts will. @!#$ty springs will give you a rough ride, or maybe too sloppy, but the struts are what controls the bounce.
then explain to me how Koni yellows on SPortlines ride like @!#$ (bouncy as hell) yet a very nice smooth ride with those exact same koni yellows on the road magnet springs? Springs WILL give you a bouncy ride, granted most of it is the shock/strut but the springs will affect it.
Konis on sportlines do NOT bounce unless they've been adjusted too soft or are somehow damaged.
As mentioned, it's the struts that control bounce. Bounce is caused by springs rebounding with more force than is absorbed by the struts. Since the energy is not absorbed by the struts, they oscillate until the energy is dissipated. That's the bounce.
Therefore, if you don't have appropriate struts for whatever springs are on the car, it will bounce. Given bad struts, some springs will obviously bounce more than others, but it's not the fault of the springs.
^^^ What he said. I have talked about this a couple years ago. The struts absorb the bounce. Sometimes the spring rate may be to much for the strut to absorb. I have ridden in a Car with sportline and Koni red and the ride is not bouncey it may be stiff but not bouncey. The Magnet springs may have a different spring rate which the Koni's can absorb better. Are the Magnet springs more for looks than Performance? IF that is so they may have been designed to be for more a daily Driver than may be a road course. I have been a in a car that is stiff but the bounce comes from the seat in the car not really the car itself.

I actually HAD Konis and Sportlines on my car for over a year.
It's not that the SM springs would have a rate which "the Konis can absorb better". Konis are more than capable of handling Sportlines. They just have to be adjusted properly.
Well let me put it this way depending on the sprng rate you may not have to have the damping as high as other springs.

That's true. You'll need them adjusted differently for different springs.
