lowering struts

i am lookin into a newer suspension since i started autobody school and now have alot more tools avaliable to me and i was wondering if the kyb agx struts will sit lower than the stock ones. i know alot of struts cant handle much of a drop and i know the gr2's are pretty much like the oem setup, what is the diff between the gr2's and agx besides the adjustment capability? any help is appreciated. thanks.

If I am reading your question correctly....The strut wont change the ride height at all. You would need to change the springs for that. The AGX's are nice adjustable unit, and more affordable struts, but they handle (& are warrantied for) a less aggressive drop, 1.5" if I remember correctly.

With a drop like that, you are lookng at a limited number of springs. The D-specs seem to be a very popular option around here. Do some searcing for different springs on this site, and see how people like them.

Gr2's are made to be stock replacements and agx are made for bring slightly lowered. I Know AGX's are warrantied for up to a certain drop..I THINK 1.5"..not sure on that one..you'd have to look it up. If you are looking to go on anything like sportlines or anything like that you want to look into tokiko D-Specs or Koni yellows

for what type of car? if its for a j it has to be koni yellows or tokico dspecs. coilovers will blow any other strut. i can bet those are cheap generic coils and i doubt it will even ride nice with those struts. not to mention if someone bought some junk coils off ebay i know they wont spend 600 on struts

I would mount those in a garbage can, and chaulk it up as a $40 loss. Those are REALLY bad, and to waste the money on struts that could handle the "drop" those give....bad investment...

You would be looking at D-specs, or Yellows. But that is a WASTE of a good strut IMO.

If you wanted coil overs.....should have gone gravana, tein...something like that.

yea i told him they were junk, but he wants to fill up alot of fender gap, i wouldnt buy d-specs if i wasnt gonna do it right. what all springs will fit the d-specs and konis? i know those coilovers are alot smaller than stock or lowering springs. so will any good brand spring be ok on some d-specs?

Have him get Eibach Sportlines and some D-Specs. He'll be as low as he should go, and have a decent ride.
