strut mounts...

So i ordered new strut mounts through carparts.com and because the fronts are in pieces im assuming they are the 95-98 mounts. There is the top strut to body mount, and the bottom spring perch. it looks like the bearing is already seated into the spring perch but just in case what does the bearing look like. and there is also a little mint green plastic ring..... does it go between the two pieces or wat. thanks in advance.

Sounds like the 2k+ mount to me. The bearing isn't much beyond a smooth surface that the bottom piece fits into so it can turn nicely. It's not a packed set of ball bearings or any such thing.

Green plastic thing goes in the middle and, I believe, holds a metal plate in place that lines up the strut shaft. I put a set of KYB's on a car last weekend and one had the metal plate (actually, rather like a really thick washer than a plate) and the other one was missing it.

Does it look like this? (95-99/1st design)

Or like this? (2k+/2nd design)

definatly the 2k+, still not totally sure as to where the plastic ring goes. does it sit down on top in the middle of the left piece?

No, it goes in the middle of the right one, but I can't remember whether it goes down from the top, or up from the bottom. If you don't have the metal piece that fits into the green plastic thing though, then it's all for moot.

No idea. Came in the box of the KYB's... but only in 1 of two. Proabably isn't necessary. I'm just not sure what the plastic bit does without it.
