under hard braking are the front rotors doing most of the work? I know rear drums fade after a few hard stops but in a percentage how much work are the front brakes doing then the rear?
I would think that your front brakes are the ones that are fading, especially if you have the stock setup.
Don't rely on them when needed is all I can say.
If you've never had your front brakes fade to the point that you no longer have brakes, it's not fun. This has happened to me twice before I upgraded the rotors, better pads, and stainless lines front and back.

Thank you Dave and JBO!
^^^What he said. For sure get s.s. lines and upgrade to Brembo slotted rotors. Best bang for the buck! Or, best Slow for the Dough! See what I did there?

heh. Been there as well. Not fun at all!
Not sure how much value there is in the lines, but better pads are definitely worth the money!
I have hawks pads and Powerslots don't have the brake lines though some thing im going to have get.
do dealers bitch about the SS lines? also i have the original drums and brake shoes, I was thinking of getting moog drums and raysbestos shoes. Or drums are drums and it doesnt realy matter.
Dealers won't say a thing about the stainless lines as long as they're installed correctly and the brakes bled properly.
Drums are drums so it really won't matter on what kind you get.
It's pretty much the same with the shoes too. They don't make anything high performance for any type of brake shoe unless you get with someone like Hawk, and have them special made.
Good luck with it and you'll never have an issue again with the fading of the brakes.
Also, if your car is over 5 years old, replace the entire calipers too. Doing this will prevent them from locking up ovet time which they will do.
On the rear drums, get the new hardware kit that gives you all of the springs, pins, and all of the accessories that hold the drums together.
Might as well do it right and you'll never have an issue with your brakes.

your front rotors are always doing most the work, especially when hard stopping.

It's like 90-10 this is just to prevent the tail of the car to go to the front and doing a 180. My car is doing this now that my rear brake are shot, lol very bad
