so if you have one, can you post it? (im a visual guy so explaining it would pretty much be useless)
Did you get a rear sway bar already?
If you didn't, you're gonna need 'L' brackets to conect the thing.

so basically the tie bar is added in between the eurethane bushings of the sway bar?
Portage, MI
Not the bushings themselves, but yeah, in between on the end links, or L brackets.

It make no sense installing it. I am not sure how effective it will be.You will have to get brackets etc to install it and it is not a very thick bar so iam not sure it will hold up. The sway bar will help to keep it rigid and it may not be thick enough to have any affect on your handling. I have one sitting in my garage right now. I can sell it to someone if they are interested. It is black.

Ok I have a hellwig 19mm rear sway bar. I'm interested in this rear tie bar deal. But my first question is since I already have the rear strut tower brace is this going to make any difference in handleing? It already feels like I'm riding on rails? Everyone has been doing lots of talk about adding the rear tie bar to there rear sway bar setup but yet no one has made any comments on the differance it makes.
Can someone elaborate?
Regards,
Jarid
Ive bought a bar from the Trailblazer/Envoy like the 1 in the picture in black.
Ill be adding with it a rear sway bar. But this bar is bigger then the Control FX. It cost me 15$ can funds.

well I'm in canada to. So ordering it from the dealer will be no problem I was just inquiring about the differance it made in handleing/feeling of the car in addition to the 19mm rear sway bar I have already.
Will the Trailblazer/Envoy rear tie bar fix my hellwig bar?
elpaso has the tie bar installed wrong, it should go in between the bushings where that spacer is.
Well, after reading elpaso's post again I realized that may not have been his car. Anyways, thats wrong.
well? any news on the this fitting on the hellwig bar? Any difference in feeling in handling/cornering?

Regards,
Seeing as the Hellwig bar doesn't even have endlinks like that, I'm not really sure how you'd install it.

But is there any differance in handling? Stiffness? Where can I get this control FX tie bar.
Regards,
Interesting. Since you can't buy the Hellwig sway bars anymore, does anyone still make those tie bars for it?
And those might be the worst install pics ever!
Ya I was wondering myself weasel since I got my bar from you
I will see if I can get ahold of control FX. Also can anyone make any comments on the difference this mod would make if you already have the rear sway bar and rear strut tower brace?
Ya I know I think those are the worst pictures ever. So dark and cant even really see what is going on in them.
Regards,
The purpose of the tie bar is to keep the wheels from flexing in and out. The in and out flexing causes changes in toe. Unless you auto-x you will not see any difference in performance. It is there to extract that last few tenths in performance from serious performance driving. however, the trailblazer bar will only cuase the twist beam to become a solid axle because there aren't any heim joints to allow the beam axle to flex up and down. if the beam axle doesn't flex up and down then the sway bar (in the j-body application) is rendered useless. correct me if i am wrong.
That is very interesting jpo96sungt. So what bar do people need if the trail blazer bar makes the rear swap bar useless?
Regards,
I haven't looked around for one since i am not currently needing one. you could make your own if you have the means. basically the same as the control fx bar above. steel bar that has the two ends tapped and two heim joints with jam nuts. possibly aluminum bar if it will work.
