i tried searching the members for them , but couldnt find it
i just got the ssbc 4 piston big brake kit , its brand new
i was looking at my friends baer kit , and his wheel clearence is pretty tight
does any one know what wheels would clear the caliper ??
also it came with green stuff pads , which id perfer not to use , unfortunatly they came in a bag with no #s , anyone know the # for them also so i can cross them too something else ?
ssbc hasnt answered me about anything yet
I don't know about this new kit but their older 2 piston kit generally required 18's for the 13" front kit. I wouldn't use the Baer kit as a reference.
Do they have some sort of template that you can check them with?
guess i shoulda clarified that part , the kit is a OLD kit , back when they used the PBR 2 piston calipers for the fronts
but the kit i got was never used , and was still in the boxes , the rotors are 13"
ill see about posting some pics of it later tonight , the calipers are huge
only way i can describe them is the amount of caliper on the inside , is on the outside on these
i was more curious about the spoke clearence , then rim dia , ive got 2 sets of 18's coming
Your title specifically says 4-piston brakes.
Hell, I didn't even know they made a 4-piston kit.
No idea though... if they don't have a template available, you're really just going to have to hope for the best. You should be ok with most 18's though. It's usually just the big fancy blingin' chrome ones that end up with clearance issues due to their shape.
When SSBC first started making front brake kits for the Jbody, you had an option of 2 or 4 piston calipers. I had borrowed a SSBC rotor and 4 piston caliper ( hell they might be the same ones ) to see if they would fit my 17's There was barely enough clearance on the diameter, the problem was the offset. You probably need at least a 40mm offset for them to work on 17's ( mine are 45mm )

yeah thats how old the kit is , lol
i just tried the 18" katana's , and they need about 1/8" to 1/4" more clearence at the spoke

im getting everything from dave , including both sets of 18's , since my other sedan is goig to be getting a big brake kit also , and it has 4piston calipers as well , but im not sure yet if they are going to use 12" or 13" rotors , and the company is using my car for proto typing them

they *SHOULD* fit, from what i remember the old ssbc kits were simliar to the current Baer kits that are out now.....

Baer uses 2-piston sliding calipers so I'd make no assumptions when it comes to a 4-piston fixed caliper. I'd expect it to protrude out far more into the spoke area.
