If your struts are blown would your car ride like a tank or would it bounce? I know the shock absorbers are really what control the bouncing but it just seems like it would bounce twice as much with out struts.
in my old car, the one in the rear was shot and it sounded like a thump on every bump. It was not bouncy... sounded almost like it was bottoming out or something...

shock = strut = damper. Regardless of what you want to call them, they're damping the energy in the spring and when they're shot, you bounce.
I'm not sure what you mean by riding "like a tank". If you're too low and bottom out all the time, I suppose that could fit that description.
I have blown struts in the back or my car and it rides like a take = you can jump on my bumper and the car doesn;t move. There is absolutely no response from the struts. I don't know if they are seized in there or if the springs are broke too... The springs look fine...
If it doesn't move, then you've got some sort of problem with the springs. The dampers don't stop it from going down. They stop it from coming back up too quickly.
If it goes down and then doesn't come back up... or comes back up really slow... then you've somehow got dampers too powerful for the springs. Putting Konis at full stiff with stock springs could have this sort of effect, but it doesn't sound like you've got any mods done.
Sounds like dead springs to me. Is it really harsh when driving, like you're bottoming out all the time?
It's not like I'm bottoming out, it more like there is no response what so ever. No bounce, no recoil, feels like I am riding in a cheap dune buggy... I can't beleive that the srings would have given out, the car drove fine a week ago when the struts gave out...
