What's the best way in going about installing eibach pro kit on struts, do i need the coil spring machine to compress them or is there an easier way to put them on. Thank you!
spring compressors = free rental from autozone ($40 deposit)
keeping all your eyes and appendages = priceless
heres the thing Ive yet to do any suspenion work. with engines I could work on all day, but with suspeion I feel like a damn cardomain fool who thinks it's toit to lay a towel over my back seat.
but seriouly is there any way I can learn about how to install schoks and springs I mean that actuall insctructions. faq was nice but know hands on stuff.

Pick up a Haynes manual. It will detail the whole procedure and give you all the torque specs you need.
Treat the lowering springs just like you would the stock springs. There's nothing different about the installation.
Borrow the spring compressor. Loosen the top nuts in the front before you do anything else (loosen... don't remove...) and you'll be fine. If you can't loosen them, you may want to get your hands on an impact wrench.
Unless you have an impact wrench, take your old struts and new springs to your mechanic. That way he can easily tear the old one apart and install the new springs. Mine charged me ten bucks. Took him 2 minutes. Spring compressors from Sears = $40.00.
You should also get new struts if you're still running stock.
I just did mine. Bought new mounts so I wouldn't have to tear the old one apart, except no-one told me about the rubber insulators. Dealer wanted $300 for the front set alone - unreal!!! Had to tear the old strut apart anyway - just for the rubber.
Hey, I heard that you can use 2 ropes to take your factory springs out. Put 1 rope around one side, making shure is TIGHT and making a good nut, then repeat the same process for the oppositte side of the spring.
Then take the top bolt off and BE CAREFULL,, CHeap ways wont work always........ Then after taking the strut mount, take the spring and release both rope's.
wat are you doin the back or the front????
well here are both just incase some1 might need em...
well its not the best instructions but its an idea..

i did this last week i kinda forgot the socket sizes but i try to remember..
Back spring!
Get a strut spring compresser (from autozone murrays pepboys)
1 lift up car
2 take tire out
3 compress the sping safely! u dont have to compress it that much cause u kinda have space....(dont do it the wrong way and get hit in the face)
4 there are 3 bolt on the top of the strut take them out (1/2 i think)
5 there is one bolt on the bottom take it out big one (3/4 i think)
6 pop the strut out
7 look how the spring sits on the strut so u put it back the same way.. there i like a lil rubber piece so the bottom of strut the spring starts sits in there. same with the top. sorry if u dont understand lol
8 while the strut is still compressed take the mount bolt of the top its covered wit a lil rubber cap.
9after u take of the strut mount start loosin out the compresser and take of the spring
10 put the spring on and the same way the old one was.includes the lil rber cap on the top..i forgot it lol even u can put it on where ur done ....
11 compress the spring not alot cause it might hit the top where the strut mount sits on and u wont have much room to work with. depends how long the bolts on the strut compresser is ..
12 put it in place ..MAKE SURE THAT EVERYTHIN LINES GOOD BEFORE YOU PUT ANY Bolts!!! i did that and it sucked
13 put the top 3 bolts on
14--- put the bottom bolt on and dont forget the washer..dont really kno wat is does but try to put everything back how it was.u might have to play wit it for a like couple minutes. if you doint it by ur self..
15 tighten all bolts good not to tight
16---loosen the strut compresser slow so u dont mess the threads on the bolt on the compresser ....
17 --check every bolt out and look that the spring is oke and nothin looks wrong
18-- put tire back one
19 ---drop the car and check everythin out
20 --do the next side
should take u like 20-25 mins (each)
```````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Front springs!
1 -lift car
2 -take tire out
3 --compress spring u might have to compress it lil more than the back because its a tighter squeez to get out the strut
4 --there are 2 bolts on the bottom take them out.(21mm)
5 ---take the 3 top mountin bolts out (9/16)
6 --pull it out and then swap springs
7 ---put it back on the same way u took it out.
8-put top bolts on
9 --put bottom bolt on tight
10- make sure eveything is goo and tight and u drop ur car and check it out and ur set!
sorry i got kinda lazy on the front instructions but that is pretty much it...should take u like 25-30 min at the max (each)
Sorry if it wasnt really helpful.....
jus rent the compresser u ger all ur money back ...i dont think the rope idea is very safe.. lol but hey it wouldnt hurt to try it .....or will it?
i installed Tiens not Eibachs... hope it doesnt make a difference....... lol
Thanks for the help. I'll try it out.
holy hell batman thanks!!! get some pics and make a sticky.
don't use a rope!!
that thing breaks and your *%*@(@ man.
the right tool for the job.
If you dont have air compressor and air tools, this may be very hard and time comsuming,but, it can be done. WARNING; Front springs under lots of tension, use spring compressor, if you are using the two piece spring compressor, compress evenly. Install all stock items, that are not spring and sturt ( mounts, upper spring seats, lower spring noise isolators, spacers or washers) once the front lower mounting bolts are removed do not over pull on spindle. you may break or crack brake hose, or disslocate inner cv joint. When doing rear sturts make sure support rear axle when disconneting lower sturt bolt. ON THE REAR ALWAYS DO LOWER BOLT THEN UPPER, THEN INSTALL REVERSE UPPER THEN LOWER, USING JACK TO HELP LINE UP LOWER BOLT. NOTE; you may notice the springs on the front spring the is a top and bottom to be install ( secret when you place spring standing on end on the ground, one end will make the spring stand straight, this is top)
ok well air tools aren't needed, so if you don't have..don't worry. instead of an air gun you'll need a big set of channel lock pliers and a racket/socket..instead of taking 1 min to take the top nut off..you'll take prob 10mins..big deal. and for the bottom bolts..just use a 2 foot breaker bar and then they'll come out with a rackets/socket and wrench. you don't even need a spring compressor, save your money and NO you ain't going to loose an eye. if you do a search i've asked the same questions..ppl gave all kinds of responses. ne-waz i changed all 4 without a spring compressoe and no air tools. took 1hr for the rear and 1 1/2 for the front(front i had someone help put on the top nut) .. well hope anything i said helps, being that i didn't read the whole post
