ok heres my prob when i am braking sometime if im goin 65 and come to a stop you know slowly when i release the brake pedal my back break make a loud pop anyone know what could cause this. also on my steering wheel column when im turning the wheel i can hear and feel popping under my feet and on the passenger side....

Brakes: Not sure there. I guess the shoes could be hanging on the backing plate bosses or the springs are worn and not working properly anymore. Your drum could be worn to the point where it's internal diameter is larger that allowed. The allowed max diameter is stamped on the outside of the drum.
The steering feeling your experiencing sounds similiar to a problem a lot of people have with our cars. The intermediate steering shaft needs lubrication. GM has a kit for it. I have the same noise and feel but have yet to do this job so I cannot offer any assistance on how to do it.

if its such a cpommon problem how come no one else here has any idea how the @!#$ to do it... there new drums so i doubt there worn but ill check the springs and everything.
i think i could have put the springs on wrong but im not anyone got a diagram or anything cause i could have my shoes on wrong and the springs pulling the wrong way... thanks
also how much does this lubrication kit cost and how often should it be done.
