I just bought brand new KYB GR-2 struts off ebay and I realized after paying for them that it say on the KYB website
1995-98 | ALL (Exc. 16 | #334226 front | #341244 rear
These are the model #'s for the ones I bought.
I have a 97 z24 and I purchased a Eibach sport line kit as well to go with these shocks/struts now am I going to have trouble fitting 17" konig verdicts with these shocks since it says ALL (Exc. 16
nice choice on the rims dude, got the same ones
hahaha.... so what about these shocks
they exclude the 16" rim model... or Z24... Why i am not too sure.
you need the struts for the Z24 , the others will not clear the 16's or up wheels unless you got alot of offset
^^^ IDK about that i am running those exact same shock (i am almost sure) with an 18' rim and a 35 series tire a 40 series would clear but you could barely stick a piece of paper between the wheel and the bottom plate

it all depends on the wheel off set
my friends 18's wouldnt clear at all
the way the spring seat is made it sits about 1/2"closer to the tires than the stock strut
either way dude..GR-2's and sportlines..GR-2's are OEM replacements, nuthin great about them, if your oem struts/shocks on your car right now are still good, no point changing over...save up some cash and do it right..get some koni's or tokico's..i think theres some Tokico D-spec's on ebay..they should be ok with a 2 inch drop
I personally have 17s on my sportline springs and they fit fine. IF I wanted to fit 18s with small tires, I could if I wanted to. You shouldn't worry about it.
Here is what mine look like:

Do they even make the ones that don't fit properly anymore?
When KYB first made the GR2's for our cars, there were clearance issues with the stock 16" wheels. This was obviously a problem for a lot of people.
When KYB realized there was a problem, they fixed it. I thought they simply stopped making the ones that didn't fit and replaced them with the new design.
Your best bet is to call up KYB and get the 411 on this. They should be able to tell you based on the product number or something whether you're going to have issues.
as far as i know they offer 2 models now
and it took them years to listen to fix the problem , lol
I have those struts and i was thinking of running 18" konig absolutes, think itll work?

the guy emailed me back saying i should have no problem fitting them and that he will exchange them if there is any problems. It will just be annoying if it doesn't work out
yeah I got H&R springs 1.6/1.4, and gr2s all around, with stock 95-99 Z rims.

Should be no problem. The somewhat "good" thing about our suspension is that we are very high stock so we can drop our cars and still put big rims on.
If you look at the picture above, I still have room to put 18s (low profile tires though) and I have a 1.7 drop (front), 2.3 drop (back).

I was thinking more of the lines of what jdm cav sedan said. I deffinitly know what you are talking about with being so high stock. My cav was ready to go fourwheeling the day i got it, i had to adjust the altitude a little and now it looks alot better. But i wasnt thinking more of size, more of what he was saying about spring seat etc.
