I dropped my 04 Sunfire using the EiBach Pro-Kit. Unfortunately I used the stock struts. I was told the springs would work fine with the strock struts.
Now I'm getting a popping noise from the rear end when I go over a bump.
Also the ride seems to be too stiff, is that due to the stock struts? What do you guys recommend? Thanks!

You probably are gonna wanna go with agx struts and shocks, or the yellows. I was told the same thing on the phone yesterday so dont feel bad. Instead of the pro-kit though i got the sportlines instead.

did you do the drop, or did you have them installed?
the harsh ride is the stock struts, hey just can't handle the shorter springs, they can barely handle the one they come on.
agx are a more cost effective alternative, and is my vote.
AGX seems to be a very popular choice, I just never messed with Adjustable shocks/struts before so I don't know how they work. Is there anything special you have to do with them?
I did the installation myself, but I do own all the tools to do it correctly, with the exception of the special nut that holds the top of the strut.
How much do you guys think these struts go for? Thanks!

basically just install em...
if for any reason you are like, man, i wish my car was a bit stiffer today... take like 2 min and adjust em...
then lets say you take the mrs out for a date in an olde town setting... and theres cobble stone... and you know its gonna be bumpy.... take 2 more minutes before you pick her up and adjust it to soft.
extremely easy to do.
also can find em on ebay for like 350 or so...
but they are only for 1.5 inches or less, and no coilovers.
how do these adjustable match up to non adjustables, and also, how would you go about adjusting them?
the fronts have a little screw in the top, the rear has a knob on the side of the strut.
go to kyb.com and check out the pictures...
i dropped my o3 cavalier with the prokit and the front springs pop and sqeel like an old rusted set of springs. i used agx struts. The rear is great but the front spring moves in it's mount. I can reach in and it twists in place. What did i do wrong?

Something wrong with your bearing setup. Did you start with the stock setup and just replace them with the Prokit springs or did you have any craptastic coilover setup in between or any other setup which might have altered things?
The bearings allow the top of the springs to turn freely on the mount. This is necessary for things to work properly.
No. Believe it or not it was a straight swap out. Took out the stock springs and struts. Put rubber gasket on bottom put spring on with writing right side up. put stock strut mounts back on top and tightened the bolt. Maybe my bolt isn't tightened all the way?
No coilovers! Went right from stock to lowering springs.
You forgot your washers that your suppose to install with the AGX struts for the 00+ strut mounts....if it didn't come with the washers you need to go find some washers and mount about 5 of them together for each strut mount, or you need to call KYB and get them to send you some.
If you only have a little bit of play you might
be able to use a spacer to put some
pressure on the spring and keep it
in place. This should also take care of
the noises you hear. This is assuming you've
only got a little extra room betweent the spring
and the mounts. Hey it worked on my car
04 cav w/eibach. Good luck man
I think saying it takes 2 minutes to adjust the AGX's is pushing it... Can easily be done in a minute.
If you do get AGX's I would reccomend you put the rears on with the knob facing towards the center of the car. Mine are facing the drum and I have to get down there with a mirror to see where they are at when I adjust them.
I know with my H&R's the writing is actually upside down on the front springs. The front springs can only go on one way though.
I would think that the pops and sqeeks are coming from bad or mis-installed shock/strut mounts.
Thanks guys
I didn't put the washers or spacers on the top of the struts. I also bought new KYB strut mounts today. Damn they were alot cheaper than the dealer. Installing them, no, reinstalling them this weekend!!! Thanks again guys!!
How much are the KYB strut mounts? might rather use them then @!#$ around with washers and what not.

your still going to need the washers in there, the KYB mounts are designed to work with stock equipment.
Thats gay. so the kyb have seperate mounts for a -99 or 00+. cause what if u just order the ones for a 99, then no washers? bah, washers are cheap ill put a dozen on each side if i have too. lol
