What kind of brake fluid does the 1996 Z24 take? I hear its DOT 3...Am I right?
I wanna take out the old fluid and replace it with new fluid. What are the proper instructions for it? I have a brake bleed kit from Canadian Tire.

You can also use DOT4, which is compatable but has a higher boiling point.
You can NOT use DOT5, which is not compatable.
What color should this liquid be? Mine is brown now.

well bleeder valve was rounded off so i just bled out of the brake line. wow did it make a difference. no more clunking and a nice firm pedal.

Ok then... clear with a hint of golden like clean motor oil?
well i was just double checking. i was starting to question myself.
heh. Same here. Haven't looked at any for quite some time now and just recalled it not being clear since I could see it through the hazy plastic of the reservoir.
Bottom line is that when it's dirty... it looks dirty.
