I had a set of AC/Delco struts on my cavalier for one year, and a couple of days ago I found that the passenger front strut had sprung a leak. I was surprised, because I thought Delco's were somewhat durable.

So, I'd like to know who makes a durable, almost unbreakable strut that I could use, if the rest of my Delco's end up being toast. Thanks in advance.

Delco's are crap. I would reccomend AGX's or Koni's , but GR-2's may suffice.

Oh, and I read your profile on how you want to upgrade your car with the Z24 springs and such. It was my understanding that the RS models came with the z24 suspension but had the base engine in it.

All 3rd gens use the same springs.

If you're not lowering the car, I think most of the name brand aftermarket struts should make you happy. Monroe and KYB come to mind.

I went with AC/Delco because I had experience with Monroe and Gabriel, and those shocks/struts would leak after awhile. On my other car (not in profile) I had ac/delco struts for 6 years without any leaking, so I figured I'd put them on because this is a daily driver that will have to endure some bad roads. Just the passenger side front went, so I replaced it.

On the other hand, someone was telling me about Monroe Magnum? (unsure of the name), as they are supposed to be heavy duty and almost unbreakable. Lowering, unfortunately, is out of the question, because these (NYC) roads will definitely eat up my suspension and undercarriage.

So I will wait and see if the rest of the delco's hold out (and yes I had the newer z springs in when I replaced the struts last year). I could go with Bilstein, but I figured that I'd rather put them on my camaro than my daily driver. We'll see.
