Has anyone ever tried to get a Neon rear rotor to clear the center bore of our rear hub? Just wondering as I think they have a smaller center, havent found any info & am not too anxious to drop the $30-50 each just to try one out.
95+ Cavys and Sunfires rear hub are 138mm (5.433") diameter and 57mm (2.244") deep. Then if Neon rotors can pass it you are done. After that you would need rear calipers with integral e-brake (Civic, Accord, Eclipse, Lumina,etc.... could be an option), custom plates, custom brake lines and custom e-brake cables.
I hope this info help you.
Regards,

either way you still need that plate machined

Bah. Nothing some elbow grease and a whole lot of duct tape can't handle!
As others have stated, it would require alot of machine work, but overall could work.
I'm just planning on doing this:

If he doesn't put up a HowTo and more Pics in the next fewmonths, I will be doing about the same thing this fall.
Actually I did not mention why I was looking at Neon rotors. I have had the SSBC rear setup for over a year & am sick of the large ass rotors that wont fit in stock Z wheels without spacers. So, to elimante machining rotors whenever I want replacemnt rotors Ive been wandering around looking at 5x100 cars with rear disc that I can simply put on our hub without any machine work. If Neon ones fit our hub, then the only machine work I have to do is the one time altering of my existing brackets.
TR, you can buy bigger rotors through baer. Costly, but you do not need to go through the trouble of having them machined.
Also, Cahill is doing the Neon rear disk setup on a second gen right now. Look at his recent posts here and on the V6Z24 forum.

Not having them fit in his wheels is the far bigger deal. The rotors will last damn near forever on a street car so replacement costs shouldn't be a big concern.
Im trying to step down from 12" rotors to more of a stock size. If Baer had say 10" rears for our car Id buy their rotors lol. As far as replacement costs, that wasnt the main issue. The issue with cost was simply running to the parts store & purchasing 5x100 rear rotors from other cars just to see if they fit & finding out they didnt ya know.
Doesn't Mantapart sell a 10 inch rear conversion kit?? Must be from another car... Quick! Someone find out what car!!

I got a Baer kit for sale!!!
ONLY THE STRONG SURVIVE
easy way to find out...... go to a parts store, have them go get a neon rotor off the shelf, grab a cavi drum as well, and compair the center holes...... as long as their not busy, they shouldn't have a problem doing it for you.

Funny how I used to deal with Manta all the time, but once I asked Tim for some info on the rotors all I got was that all info on replacement rotors was included when you purchase the kit lol.
I have rotors from a 1990's K car which fit over the rear hub nicely. Neon rotors are likely similar.
Some of the Dodge rear rotors are vented, some are solid, so you'll need to check this. Parts stores have catalogs with rotor diameter, thickness, type (vented vs solid), center "pilot" hole diameter, wheel stud diameter and number of studs, and the height of the rotor "hat" as measured from the outer friction surface to wheel mating surface.
I remember that Brembo had a huge rotors catalog, you can download from internet. As slowolej said exist many sites that offers you precise rotors specs.

Thanks for the tip all that replacement companies like Brembo have online parts catalogs with specs. I was simply searching auto manufacturer sites trying to find detailed specs.
