My turn..... HELP
Tuesday, August 02, 2005 10:57 AM
O.k. I will be the first to admit sometimes I may come off like a know it all, but I'm realy
not I've just been around the block a time or two thats all.

Anyway my problem is I replaced my stock brakes with ones from EBC, pads and rotors, They're great I love them. Trouble is that about 2 weeks after I did now my car keeps throwing the abs light on. You turn off the car re-start it and its off. Hmmm?
I've noticed that it does it anytime I drive on gravel or a road thats torn up. I had a tech
at work scan the car and it came up with both the left and the right front wheel sensors
experenced excessive speed. We atributed this to spinning tires he cleared the codes and I thought i was good to go. POP it came back on the other day while pulling it out of the garage, no wheel spinning involved I swear!! So now I have an appointment to get the car looked at in the shop cause obviously somethings up. But do any of you have any idea what this might be from? I can't see it being the pads or rotors.

What do you guys think?

Do your brakes feel spongy?

No they feel/ work great. Thats whats got me puzzled so bad. If I had a problem with them being spongy I would say I prob cooked the brake fluid which is what you were thinking right? But no no spongy. And yes the rear is adjusted nicely as well.

I'm not sure thats the same problem. I can actualy see it happening and it makes sence if you hit the wheels but I'm only turning my car in gravel? I don't know maybe something gets kicked up? I just can't see it messin with the abs from driveing in gravel. This is the only reason I hate newer cars! Thanks Pushrod.

Anything else? Anybody?

Could just be bad sensors. Have you checked the connectors to ensure everything is secure?

bad sensors would be my guess....also check the magnets on the sensors...see if they are caked with metal filings?
