GM strut bars....

Does anyone have the part number for the front and rear strut bar made by GM Performance? I have a 01 2.4L coupe, and was looking for them. I know they make them for the 03+, but wasn't sure about the 00-02+ models. Thanks.

Check the FAQ, it's in there. The bars fit all 95 to 05s just the same. Ecotec engines have computer clearance issues, but you don't need to worry about that with the 2.4

They don't make a rear bar. You have to go aftermarket for that.

Oop, good point WW, didn't notice he was looking for both.
I think the front really make a big difference, the rear, some difference.

the rear bar (i have no front bar yet) gave me alot of oversteer when fast cornering. the rear end is MUCH tighter than the front now and its fun to swing the rear end around on curves

but its a little excessive, the front bar will make the car act more as a whole unit, i still dive hard into corners

so i basically dont agree with the comment about the rear doesnt make that much of a difference

I went to the GM sales today and asked about the front strut bar, but the guy at the computer gave me his best WTF look when I asked. Does anyone have the part number for the front strut bar on a Cavalier? Mine's a 2001 2.4L coupe.......

You sure you aren't confusing that with a sway bar? A strut bar isn't going to induce oversteer.

what is the price of the front sway bars you all have and what prices for the rear sway bar.

im looking to get better handling one step at a time, right now i think i could afford a front sway bar depending on the price...

Well, check to see if you even have a front sway bar. Most of the cars came with one.

A brand new rear bar will run you anywhere from 120-150. A brand new front bar is about the same. Keep an eye on the classifieds though, you can save a lot of money in there.

If you want to make your car handle better, I would start out by adding adjustable shocks like AGX's. Those can be had for about 370 shipped.

Sway bars are more for tuning purposes, but they will still help your car handle better on factory struts and springs.

Patience is the key when it comes to doing things cheap (either saving or watching the classifieds constantly). I was able to pick up a front sway bar for 75, strut bars and a rear sway bar for 150 out of the classifieds. I also got a subframe brace for $40 out of the classifieds as well.
