I recently bought a 2002 Z24.. its a great car, but that shift nob is too annoying for me to deal with anymore.. its the shifter that you have to pull the little black part up towards the shift nob in order to get it into reverse.. anyone know how im suppost to get the stock shift nob off? It wont seem to twist off, and there are no visable screws.
grab it realllllllly hard and twist that sucker off.............there are no screws just twist it off.And once that comes off the black piece comes right out.
I ain't callin u a gold digga,but you ain't messin wit a broke cracka
will i still be able to shift to reverse without that black piece? and which way will i have to twist the nob off?
Doesn't matter which way you twist it. It's not threaded, it's press-fit.
Take off the shift boot (it's clipped on) and you'll see exactly how that reverse lifter works. If that's all that's bugging you, you can cut off the piece at the bottom to disable it and keep everything looking nice up top.
damn, it was on there hella tight too.. took me a few tries, but i finaly got it off. Now i just gotta shave it down some.. thanks for the help guys.
