Wow, Ecotecs have huge exhaust ports, but that timing set up looks scary. What was wrong with the motor?

And the exhaust ports look large in that picture, but half of it is carbon build up.
What other parts aside from rods do you have planned? 2.6" pulley there?
Not to thread jack, just for fun my eco is looking like yours however I don't have any parts for it yet.

Definately loving it man! Keep it up!
Could you get some pics of the underside of the head?
Almost forgot: Make sure you get a picture of yourself in those pics...otherwise it's not your garage, engine, or work being done to it.
Thanx gang.
Plans are for....
Eagle rods
Weisco pistons 10:1
Patriot stage 2 head
Comp Cams (Blower grind)
ARP head studs
GM head gasket
nice pile of parts jon , how soon before yours is done ?

NICE!!!! Although my hate for you grows everyday
Aaron you WOW ME! PLEASE CLEAN AND POLISH THE BLOCK before you put it in, I knwo you can make the bottom as clean as the top. Keep us updated.
why phlatcav is going for 10:1 compression instead of the 8:1

I thought the same thing until I read the GM Ecotec handbook. They go into detail on how to build a 300hp SC/intercooled ecotec with 10:1 pistons. Hmm wonder if that will work on an LD9 and smaller GM SC kit

wheres my boost??
more compression means more power. Tuning will be the key.
with a s/c you need to keep the tq up , atleast with a eaton/roots style s/c
that is part of the reason
Nice.
Gay question, but what size are the bolts that hold it to the engine stand?
