I've been reading up alot on this subject and I was wondering if anyone on here has this done?
If I can come up with the money I think I'm going to be investing in this.

Do your IAT's get that hot while driving, or what is the motive behind the swap?
HP Tuners | Garrett T3/T04B | 2.5" Charge Pipes | 2.5" Downpipe | 650 Injectors | HO Manifold | Addco front/rear | Motor Mounts | HKS SSQV | Spec stage 3 | AEM UEGO Wideband | Team Green LSD | FMIC | 2.3 cams | 2.3 oil pump swap | 280WHP | Now ECOTECED
I don't have an AIT sensor, but I want to set it up so I can run the water through an icebox at the track and get the temp below ambient for more power. Basically I need to shave off 4 tenths of a second in the 1/4 mile. I already have a new exhaust(3"), and I'm trying to think of what else can be done...
I am determined to have a faster car than my friends modded LS1 camaro.

well hopefully you can hit your goal. I know on the 2000-2002 PCM with an IAT sensor installed the computer will add more timing and potentially can net more horsepower.. just a thought. But yes the colder you get the air the better you will be.
I have thought of trying frozen water\meth injection to get the temp ice cold.

I got it on my Balt
other options are methanol injection or nitrous
1989 Turbo Trans Am #82, 2007 Cobalt SS G85
I just bought one so this will be something I am going to be doing in the near future. I'll get an AIT sensor too and document all the results. all I need is a pump, some lines or hose, and a reservoir. It will be removable so I can use it for the track and switch back to the Air-Air setup for daily driving.
So I could be the first to do this on a Cavalier???

have you possibly thought about, retuning and adding some more boost instead?
-Trailblazer SS - not so custom 6.0L - custom intake - custom tune
- (1) 2.4L on an engine stand (1) blown trans (2) good quad trans (1) eco trans = party
retuning...no... I'm running the Gm Reflash. There is no retuning...lol It sucks. but I can't complain it has been running reliably now for like a month. I guess I could just up the boost a little, but it kind of scares me...lol
Besides it is does this weird thing where as soon as I punch it it jumps up to almost 10 psi then slowly comes down to 7.5-8 psi and stays there... I'm not entirely sure why it does that... So I'm afraid that if I increase the boost to 10 psi it might jump up to 12... see what I mean?
Either way I'm going to try this new intercooler out anyway.

1) why can't you retune?? I have the GM s/c reflash, I sure as hell retune.
2) your wastegate is too small which is why you are having boost spikes.
3)by cooling the air more, you air making the air more dense... sounds simular to more boost,.. keep in mind, to the rods below 250hp is still 250hp.

If the wastegate is too small then If I run more boost I shouldn't se anymore spikes. Correct?
And how would I retune anything other than fuel pressure?

you need to port the wastegate. I had that issue too, I went from a 19mm gate to a 28mm gate, and now it is perfect. You just need to remove the exhaust housing (turbo optional) and port it with a dremel from k-mart, wal-mart, C-tire, NAPA, or wherever.. always good times.

He has an eco....the gm flash for the eco's cant be tuned via HPTuner.
