You need to learn how to work on the car and put together your own "kit" for a lot less money and make more power.

You might be surprised...we can offer some pretty amazing deals these days, and power is by no means assured to be greater with a homebuilt.

I meant relative to the supercharger. Didn't know you offered LD9 kits.

first off, english. wow.

second of all. its not a pain at all to piece it. i would say its more knowledgeable to piece your own kit together rather than buy a bolt on kit in a box.
dont get me wrong, hahn has a great kit. but i had a lot more fun and gathered a lot more information by piecing it together.

sounds like you dont have the patience for it. it took me almost 6 months to put mine on, only because i ordered this part here, and this one there. bolted this one on here. and installed this once i got that. you just have to take your time to do it right. if i had to do it all over again. which i would never do, i would still piece my kit together.

If you consider all the components to actually run the turbo or super-charger system and convert the engine, you're talking about a lot more than $2300 anyway.

Also, the turbo-charger component is about $1000 (depending on the model) and a roots type supercharger is about 2X that cost. The caveat is that the charger doesn't require quite as much integration therefore the cost could be fairly equal in my OPINION.

go with a turbo setup. it requires more work but the final product will produce more power. if your issue is money then buy all your components used. im sure theres some local stuff for sale on craigslist or forums. ive built a few projects with used turbo parts and saved big. just spend your money in the right place and youll be fine. i also used some of those cheaper chines ebay turbo's and never had a problem so there are cheaper alternatives out there. good luck on your venture. its going to be frustrating but once you start the vehicle it will be all worth it.

Just buy a used or rebuilt turbo... you will not spend $1000 on one. I bought mine rebuilt for ~$185. Piece together your kit, it is cheaper and you will just as good of gains and will get all the parts you want and nothing you don't. Unless you decide to buy stuff you don't want.

And regardless of what route you take (SC or TC) this should help you figure out how much you will spend.

(Amount You want to spend) X 2 = HP Goal

Then you will set a new HP goal. The $$$ will add up quick. Ask anyone who has done it, they will fill you in.

QFT

I have more money into my installed mods than the sticker price for my car. I picked up a used S/C "kit" from a Cobalt SS/SC for $1600. I had to order a few things from the dealer, so i was able to supercharge my eco for about $2000. I also got a Modular Pulley System(MPS) and Cobra H/E with it too.
