Well i spent most of the day yesterday working on this and everything went fairly smooth. I still have to do the injectors, plugs and brackets and figure out how to make my intake work with the charger.
First question, I cant seem to get a wench in to tighted up the lower left bolt on the charger manifold. How did you guys go about tightening that up?
Second question, I ziptied the bypass valve open before i put that charger on so do i still need the stock map sensor on or am i able to use the new one for the drive to the dealership?
Man after having the charger just sitting in the box since february i cant wait to finally get it all installed. Maybe ill finish getting everything installed this week and be able to get the reflash next week or so.
i do not think the car will run with the s/c map , so you have to use the non-s/c map
the bolt ive got no clue on since i dont have the s/c yet
damn that sucks, it doesnt look like theres much room to work with around the map sensor to swap it at the dealership.
For the lower manifold bolt I just tightened it as tight as I could before I put the charger on.....cause I can't see how you are supposed to tighten it when they give u NO room to get a socket or wrench on it...
Car is for Sale!Supercharger kit is for sale!
you can get a wrench in there, just can only turn it a very little bit. very tedious if you ask me. as for the map sensor, i believe you use the 2bar sensor, tho i am prolly wrong cause i usually am, but i had the stock one on mine and it revved like a bitch when i started it up......

I swear to god, you guys never listen.
The car runs fine with the 2 bar map installed. Just stay light on the pedal to the dealership. No boost = you're fine.
Myself include 3-4 other people on here have dispelled this myth by driving our cars to the dealership with the map installed.

WicKeDFiRe - damn i thought you would have had it in by now
... since we got our superchargers about the same time.... And i know i said i would let you know how the RK sport 4-2-1 header felt with the s/c.. and i forgot all about it, but personally it felt like i lost hp kind of... but when i put the G-tech thing to work with all the same settings as i have used all along, it came up with slightly higher numbers so i guess it must have added some...

You probably had a vacuum/intake leak somewhere. Mine ran fine with the stock map and the valve NOT zip-tied.

Yeah between work and being lazy i just kept saying to myself "ahh ill just do it next weekend". But its starting to get pretty nice out now so i want to get it done. I ended up getting the Pacesetter header but its just sitting in the box and probably will be for a while since it looks like itll be a bitch to install.
As for the bolt i guess ill try to get it as tight as i can with the good ole 10mm wench, looks like it will be a slow process.
I guess i just throw the 2bar map on now and see how it goes when i start it up.
Also when i was checking out the fuel rail and injectors early today i noticed i someone managed to lose the clamp thing on one of them. Ill have to look around and see if it poppped off and landed somewhere but if i cant find it i hope the injector will stay in fine without it.
so u removed the stock lower 2 intake manifold bolts right?
anyways welcome to the club.
You mean studs, yeah i did.
And thanks but not part of the club yet but almost.
That lower manifold bolt... we used a small wrench and took our time, tightening it little by little. It was a PITA, but it was doable.
For the MAP sensor... I went the safe route and used the stock one for the drive to the dealer. It wasn't so much because it wouldn't run without it... but more because the warranty is dependant on not driving the car before the reflash and I wanted to give my dealer peace-of-mind that I had thought things through before deciding to drive it. It was a PITA to change at the dealer though since I accidentally pulled the other end of the vacuum tube off the blower. Other than that, it wasn't too big a deal.
Putting the 2-bar sensor on could mess with the idle and cause it to run rich but won't do any damage if you keep it under 2000 rpm just for the drive to the dealer.
Zip-tying the bypass open was done for the same reason. Better safe than sorry. If you're very easy on the pedal, the valve stays open anyway so the zip tie is doing nothing. But considering how easy it is to tie it open and just cut the tie when you get it reprogrammed, there's really no reason not to.
installing mine on saturday

ya if you dont take the two lower studs out ... its bad.... i dident...................
any way i completly instaled my kit.,...... ( no zip tie...) and i drove it to the dealer ship.. ran fine...
whatever
( it eaven runs fine with the charger map and the stock NA mafold.)

Alright lets see if anyone reads down this far.
Is there supposed to be a bolt holding the pulley on or is there just supposed to be a hole that looks threaded? Dont know if its supposed to be that way or not, just wanna make sure.
the one on the supercharger? no there is no bolt that holds it on, its for a puller, (upgrads?!)

if only i new what kind of pulley puller to use on this supercharger... any one know?
Supercharged 2.4L
Us for the studs and bolts.... A flex extension works wonders...
any... a powerstearing puller will work fine.
its just a pressed on hub.

Make sure you use heat to remove the stock pulley, it's on there real tight.
And, chase the threads in the blower shaft with a tap before you put the new pulley on.

Some one say using heat to take off the pulley will ruin seals or somthing on the supercharger.... but then when you think about it.. driving around cause more heat then you will most likly use to take it off...
Alright ive got everything on now except i need to put the bolts on the lower mount. Now this is were i have ran into a small problem, my bumper is to low to fit a jack under. When i change my oil i have always drove up onto a piece of wood or something to give me enough clearance to jack the car up. So do you think it should be alright to start the car up without the lower mount tightened up so i can drive up on to a 2x4 so i can jack the front up. Or should i just stop being lazy and take the front bumper off?
its easy to get to from the bottom... jack it up
