gm s/c and other mods, what goes good together?
Thursday, August 04, 2005 9:17 AM
hey im ordering the gm s/c this coming tuesday as you all know and im seeing people with the gm s/c hitting 14's with catback, header and intake and then im seeing other with the same mods hitting low 15's. My question is what mods go best with the gm s/c because i want to deffinatly be in the 14's. I have 2.25" catback, header, 59mm rsm t/b, intake, engine mounts and soon to be auto trans interceptor shift kit.....what you guys think i can take away or add to make me hit 14's easily. I have a 4 speed auto with 60k on it and it runs perfect and i change my oil regulary.

you should hit 14's easily with just the s/c on a stock z24...

I would recommend getting 2.5" pipe instead of the 2.25" you have now, this helps a lot with boost.

15.891 @ 88 mph stock, still getting @!#$ty launches...

I thought the 2.4 + GM SC ran 14.5 I seem to remember all of the reviews on it when it came out that the car ran those kinds of numbers with out any modifications. I guess things have changed when reality kicked in. That's kind of sad though to think that 2.4s are running low 15's with a S/C and my ECO 100% stock runs low 15's. Really makes you wonder is there a replacement for displacement?

they DO run 14's with just the s/c... don't know where you got that low 15's figure. also the poster has an auto.

! My 2.4l also runs low 15's damn near stock, every car is different, every driver is different. Either that, or your Ecotec is just god, and I'm totally wrong.

Yeah, I have yet to break into the 14's but every time I've run the temperature's been in the high 90's so I don't blame the blower.

My day will come. I'm expecting to be in the mid 14's when I get a good day for racing.

I'll be trying again in a few weeks.

Honestly, the biggest thing you can do with any forced inducted car is have a P & P head...you want some great gains...do that.

I can't wait to run mine

I was going 15.5 with a bone stock 2000 Z24 automatic... so if I'm not solid in the low 14's with the supercharger on a 5 speed.. i'll be pissed

I have a ported head, oversize valves, LO exhaust cam, and will have a header and side exhaust (no muffler, high flow cat) when I run.. end of the month.... at sea level, so it BETTER be good...
