fuel preesure guage install

Ok I just purchased my guage from ebay its an auto meter guage and It will be at My house in about a day. any way skip the bull@!#$.

Im sure the guage is gonna come with some sort of T line. My question is does the line just go right in the fuel return or feed?. also will this affect flow. it seems like it would hinder it a bit. also is there some where where I can just hook it up instead. isnt there a check line.

for those that are to lazy to look its an 04 eco.

the gauge will come with nothing. i guarantee it. i have never seen a fuel or oil pressure gauge come with all the needed fittings.

get ready to go buy some parts.

I used to race cars, now I race myself.

oh well not to disapointed. What could I need just a T fitting right. Also I plan to run guage to the cabin. do you think that its smart to run that far of a line.

I ran mine into the car, but use a fuel pressure isolator so if there is a leak, its not in the car! Summitracing has it 4 $95. ATM-5282 is the part #. One line comes with the isolator & runs to the gauge. You will need a 2nd to run from the fuel line to isolator, about $30 more. Then just a couple of parts from ace hardware to tap the line. Mine works great. But do it safe, use an isolator.

Im confused on how this works. Im guessing that I just relays the pressure to the line so there is no fuel in the cabin. but either way I still have to T off the fuel line and I just wanted to make sure that it wont affect the flow.

Did you order an electric or mechanical FPG?

gonna have to use a isolator , or mount the gauge in the engine compartment or on top of the hood if you want to see it while driving

be lucky you have a eco , there is a pressure port on the return line that is the pressure tap

you will need to remove the schrader valve inside it , and connect a hose between that port and the isolator , and then the isolater to the gauge

I took pics when I took mine out. Maybe they will have some educational value for someone overlooking this post.

So leet me get this straight Rubber fuel line ill just go rip some out of an old 2.4. and some metal fasterns to hold on the line thats all ill need or will I have to screw it on?

BTW thanks for the pics. When you took it out how much pressure was there behind the line and do I have to cold crank the engine to recirculate the fuel?

Before I took mine out. I pulled the fuse for the fuel pump, then tried to turn it over 3 times to limit the amount of fuel that would come out of the line when I removed the valve. The amount of fuel that came out was minimal, maybe about a shot glass or so. So be sure to hold a rag or towel underneath when you take it out. And don't forget to put the fuse back in! Before I started the car back up I turned the key a few times to get the pump going and get some fuel back in the lines before I actually tried to start the car.

the fitting has threads on it , you will need to find a fitting that will screw on to it
