**Water Injection guys where to for nozzle**
Tuesday, November 08, 2005 5:55 PM
So I am starting to install this kit tomorrow afternoon...and will prolly finish it on Thursday cause I like to take my time lol..............

I know most of you have the nozzle right on the black piece that connects to the throttle body.(GM s/c guys at least).....but I was thinking of here......

If you look at the pics...u can see the aluminum piece that connects my intake elbows...I was thinking of mounting the nozzle in the aluminum......

Or should the nozzle be as close to the throttle body as I can get it????

i put it as close to the t/b as possiable. GTP guys have a plate made to put the water injection nozzle after the t/b and b4 the s/c.

on my set up i have it right in the bend on the 90 degree t/b elbow with the nozzle misting directly into the t/b. Once u test it you will see that it is a fine mist basically right outta the nozzle so putting it far away would be useless .

on your set up bobby i would put it directly where that key is pointing. the key on the far left of the picture over the white label on the battery/the key closest to the front of the car.
basically so it sprays directly into the t/b. i would drill a hole, and use a washer on the outside of the rubber peice. On mine i have it all ghetto. and i used some clear silicone . i want to re do mine soon also.
if u want you can get a 90 degree brass elbow for 2$ at a hardware store, or home depot. just take a picture of what a coolingmist.com andgled injector housing looks like with you and your nozzle/injector and u will find one.

where u get them rubber elbows? were they cheap?

need anything else answered let me know.

Jake-

^ So just tap the nozzle right into the rubber elbow?? Yea I am going to go get the angled piece tomorrow after work hopefully...

If I have any problems I'll let u know on here or ask u on IM if ur on....

Jake I got the elbows off ebay....17.25 each.......the guy I bought them off doesn't have anything in his ebay store.....I would say check ebay....I'll look and see if there is any and if there is I'll send ya the link.....

***NOTE*** MAKE SURE IT IS AFTER THE THROTTLE BODY***

ok well i wanted to make sure you put it after the throttle body or else you risk f-ing up your TPS sensor... this is what happend to me... over time it goes down the butterfly valve shaft and into your TPS sensor... and will send crazy signals and your car will be next to imposible to drive as it will be sensing like %25 throttle when you have it to the flooor then all of a sudden it will read wide open and trust me you dont want this... i have been threw it already...

I am getting the helix plate and tapping into there.... thats what i would say you do

Forgot to add this to my previous post:

That plate looks like it was designed for a stock application....soooo do you think I would have to modify that plate at all to fit between the s/c and my 62mm tb??

Would this be a good application for a TB spacer?

LOL im glad im not the only one to do this., i got a new one and drilled a hole in the bottom to creat a vac leak, so water wouldent go down the throttle plate shaft.

ya i thought about a TB spacer too.

i have been good and i ran about a gallon of the stuff through my engine.

i thought about just drilling a hole into the s/c inlet. but so far so good with the nozzle b4 the t/b.

do what you want, i just shared my sucess story. and i am sure adler hasnt had any problems with the tps sensor.

I dont see how water can get down in there if you system is hooked up properly. It is such a fine mist going into the engine at a high rate of speed that i cant see it puddling in the intake tract unless : the system is spraying when it shouldnt, your injector is too big.

Well...I think I am going to mount it like you did Jake......and if water somehow gets into my tps.......Then I will get the spacer and go from there.....I have 2 extra tps sensors so I could really care less if I screw one up...........

Looks like the install will begin tomorrow if all goes well and I am not lazy lol

Yea i am still looking where i am going to order it from... I originaly had orderd it from Gravana, but they didnt get it in for like 9-10weeks so i gave up and just drilled into the black tube before the throttle body (bad idea!) and then f-ed up my tps sensor....
But yea i will let you know where i get mine from... and if you find a place before me let me know.. and yes it will fit fine with the supercharger..as far as i know sine every thing there is all stock (bolt holes any way)

I ran methanol over 1 year without any problems having the nozzle mounted before the throttle body.

^ if it is a reasonable price i would pick one up. no f'n way i would pay 90$ for one.

i want to exploited brian about making one too perhaps.

Re: **Water Injection guys where to for nozzle**

*i want to see if exploited brian would make me one .

there is a post about this a while back about this subject.

chances are the TPS sensor has a bad seal , or the engine bay has been washed and water got down in there. i looked at my RSM 62mm t/b and i seen no way how water could get down there.

another guy i know (mr pute) has had water injection for 6 months, half of which was with a1000cc injector and has had no issues.

Re: **Water Injection guys where to for nozzle**

bobby= what size intake rubber elbows are them?

also another thing why i dont think i have a problem is that i have my check vavle about 6 inchs from the t/b. so as soon as my system turns off, the little bit of water/methonal is sucked up right away. when the system stops working after a wide open throttle run, the way i have my injector placed the water will fall down as i have it in my 90 degree elbow that then goes straight down from the t/b.

how far did you guy's mount your check vavles, or solonoids(spelling) from the nozzle? that might be a reason that you are sucking up water when u are not supposed to.

also i doesnt help i that the TPS sensor is on the bottom of the throttle body.
