I just finished installing a B&M shift plus on my 2004 2.2l ecotec cavalier with an automatic trans. The install was easy following little bills instructions. Finished up install. Went for test drive around the block and discovered that my car will not shift out of first gear. The check engine light is on also. Please give any help you can I need to fix this as soon as possible because this is my only means of transportation.
Make sure you have the right wires hooked up. There are 2 differnet blue wires with white stripes... dark and light. Same for the red. Also make sure your connections are good. The connectors in the kit are crap. Just get a $5 soldering iron and fix it up good.
Is it possible for a bad connection to cause this?
no he was suggesting it to see if you would run out an look
and like said it most likely a wrong wire or bad connection. unhook it and see if it still does it man.
...and double posting is a bad thing too
It could be the problem... but id double check the wires. See how there are 2 red wires with black stripes in the picture. Make sure they sent you the right one, #70380.
You have it hooked to the wrong wires.
Thats Him Officer The WICKED One.
I checked it out for him last night, and it looks like he got the right wires (he was given pretty good directions from the guy that sold it to him) but one of the connections was loose, actually snapped clean off, so pin C, pressure control solenoid high, was not making contact - that is, not from the harness to the shiftplus, but the harness to the transmission.
Josh, let me know if you were able to fix it ok in the daylight today. If its not pretty or you are worried about it, if you are going to be around this weekend we can get it fixed up nicely for you.

Hey guys, I was the one mentioned in the post above that was havin problems. Turns out the harness/plug wasnt in as far as it could have, which had led to some issues. LOVIN THE RESULTS.
04silvercavy , his cav was fixed
i guess he managed to cut a wire to short and tried to solder the wires and melted something in the plug
so all is good , although he is stock right now
ill be out to install it for him soon , i hope
