Does anyone have these in a 215-40 R17? I plan on getting these within this month with my new wheels(Amp R-Fives) and i would like to see what anyone who has these think of them.

i bought Yokohama AVS ES100 over the proxes, and I am glad I did. THey stick like glue, wet and dry. Aggressive tread pattern similar to Goodyear Eagle F1. Had them for 6,000miles before I sold the wheels, and you couldn't really see too much tread wear on them. Awesome tire, highly recommended

I hope you're not planning on putting them on a j-body. If so, get 215/45/17 so they don't end up looking silly.

Good tires, though they've been replaced by the even better Proxes 4 tires. You should be able to get the FZ4's for cheap as they're selling off remaining old stock.

I thought the Fz4s were better than F4s? and Schwabs recommend 215/40/17... how will it look goofy?

Schwabs is wrong. It will look goofy and it will cause your odometer to go quicker, your speedometer to be off, and your gas mileage to suffer.

The Proxes 4 is the newer, better replacement for the Proxes FZ4.

The FZ4 is still a good tire though. I'm running them and I like them. And as I said... you should get a great price on remaining stock.

Just don't buy the size they're pushing on you. I wonder if that's all they've got left or something and they're saying "Bah... these'll be fine..." just so they can sell them.
