I currently run 225/45 Series tires on my Cav but I'm interested in running a thinner profile tire for my next set (a 225/40) Does anyone have tires this size on their Cav.......if so, how are they and do they mess with the speedo or anything? Thanks
On my fire, i just got some new rims with the 225/40 and they ride really well, doesn't mess up the speedo all that much. Only a couple of mph.
not only the speedo is off but other things change as well. talk to ww about he. he knows alot about rims
45 series tires are proper for 17" tires and yes speedo is messed up also the odometer well be as well.

If you like the look of lower profile tires, you'll need bigger wheels.
Get some 18's and you can put 225/40/18 tires on them. Click my sig for all sorts of info on this.

had 40 0n 17 not to be harsh just get them to upgrade to the 45 and you'll be sitting tight the 40's look funny just way to small really to small

Yea i have 40s on my 17s ... they wheel gap is ridiculous if your not lowered , it looked better with the Sportline drop. You can check my cardomain for pics.

anything to my speedo
i ran 205/40 on my old 17's and it didnt change my speedo that much if at all, i know my bro got a ticket in my car running 79 and the speedo said 79 so if it is off i couldnt tell, lol, hope this helps, later

Yes it did. Just because you don't understand how or why, doesn't mean it didn't.
i will say this, i know how the tire sizes change the speedo and things, and....
it is possible something is wrong with my cluster though, cause it does act weird sometimes, but all i know is that night when he got pulled over it was correct, later
