i know the stock size on my 05 sunfire are the 195/65/15. can a 225/50/15 fit on the stock rim???

How wide are the stock 15's? I suspect the 225's may be too wide, but I don't know for sure.

stock rims are 6 inches wide. i know i could get away with a 225 if it was 6.5 in wide rim but 6 inch i dont know.

225's are happiest on a 6.5 - 7" rim. Even then 6.5 is pushing it.

I have 15 inch wheels off of a Daytona with 225/50 15's. I have no problem with them at all.

How wide are the wheels? That's kinda the key to this whole discussion.

I just noted in another thread that TireRack says they'll fit on 6" to 8" wheels. You should really go with 225/55/15 though as those 50's will be a full inch shorter than stock and cause you a number of issues, not the least of which is that they'll look kinda stupid.
