the rims are meant for a RWD not a front wheel drive you can prob get a adapter but they will stick out way to far but the adapter are every unsafe.

the vettes are 5 x 115 ??

never knew they changed

but youd could either do the grand am brake swap and rear suspension , or have the hubs and rotors redrilled to 5 x 115

but depending the vettes offset , you might have to get spacers for them

1.vettes are 5 on 4.75".......2. the only way to make them fit your particular car is to buy a vette

they will never ever fit a cavalier

There is more to sizing wheels than the width, diameter, and bolt pattern. Click my sig to learn more about offsets. The vette wheels can't be modified to fit your car. You'd have to modify your car to fit the wheels and that would be a HUGE undertaking costing thousands of dollars.

the vettes wheels are no different than any other wheel out there

ive seen people put vette wheels on rear drive cars

its all about the offset of the wheels , spacers arent a that expensive

i think bolt on spacers are usually a few hundred dollars for the good 1's

Probably because Vette's ARE rear wheel drive car's, hence seing the rims on other rear wheel drive car's LOL...

A spacer isn't going to help you when the offset is too low. RWD wheels generally have much lower or negative offsets. This will place the wheel further out of the wheel wells on our cars and there's no easy way to bring them back in.

This is why you don't see those deep dish wheels on FWD cars without a lot of modification.

the newer vettes dont have rwd off-set wheels though , they use fwd style offset

next time you see 1 in a parking lot , or go by the dealer and look , it looks like they use less offset than we do

dude...seriously...i may not know everything about cars, but I do know they arent lying to you. the corvette has never and will never be on a fwd offset. they have to be on a rwd offset because they ARE rwd. try this go to a wheel site and ask them this exact quote "why are rwd offsets different from fwd offsets?" then you will find out why. Don't think they are trying to be negative...they are trying to save you lots and lots and lots of money and hassle!

dude look at the wheels in that auction i posted

look closely at the wheels , the offset isnt a near 50/50 offset

they are offset like fwd rims are , and the corvettes have been that way since 84

82 vettes were the last of the near 50/50 offset wheels

if i rememeber from 1 of the auctions the vettes are about a 56mm offset

look....just because you think the offset "looks" the same as ours, doesnt mean it is. I mean seriously think about this. If it was possible to put rwd wheels on our FWD cars...don't you think more fwd's would be runnin around with deep dish wheels? I know I would. Be serious and quit thinking everyones out to get you....they're not! The people on here are pretty helpful actually. I've gotten lots of help from these guys, you just gotta...LISTEN TO THEM! Here's an idea for you. Take the corvette wheels and sell them, do you have any idea what those puppies are worth? I mean if my stock LS Sport wheels are worth $400 a peice!!! How much do you think CORVETTE wheels are?

I do recall that I had a FWD offset on an XLR. XLR=C6

Many new front wheel drive platforms are running what amounts to a FWD offset wheel.

8.5" isn't all that bad. I run 8" wide wheels in the winter with 225's on them.

TireRack lists 225/40/18 tires that fit on wheels up to 9" wide so that in itself shouldn't be an issue.

joe your a tool , get over your hang ups and move on , if youd pull your head out long enough to look at the wheels your realize your wrong

just cause gm wants 400 each wheel new doesnt mean you can sell them for that

and i think craig meant rear wheel drive , not front

"Many new front wheel drive platforms are running what amounts to a FWD offset wheel."

Many Rear drive platforms are running what amounts to a FWD offset.

That is what I meant. Sorry about the brain fart there.
