Im buying a rim and tire package tommorow, and I am not gonna purchase it until i have input. I was wondering if its safe to ride on 225 35 18. The rim is a 7.5 and its a 5x100. Im a newbie when it comes to wheels. Please let me know asap
is it safe, sure. is it smart, no. you want a 40 series tire not a 35
Yeah, having the tire too small ends up looking stupid and will cost you more in the long run.
Why do you want smaller tires on 18's? If you want lower profile tires, go with 19's.
A 225/40/18 has no sidewall to me, I can't imagine a 225/35/18.

Kevin is right, if you want to run a 35 series tire go with 19s then you will pretty much have to run the 35 series.
Yeah listen to what everyone said, i made the mistake and ran a 215/40/17 and it looked bad, too much wheel gap and that was with the car lowered 2 inches. Need it right when i got 18s 225/40/18. Looks great .
i have 215/40/18's...........and i love them.theyre actually closer to the stock diameter than the 225's

^^^ Not if you had 15's stock, atleast thats what the faq says. Either way its a minimal difference.

ok. I wanted a little more side walk than the 215 but that is not even that much but it is a slightly wider tire so more road contact.
