So i ordered a pair of Metal hubcentric rings through Discount Tire direct thru an ebay auction. Said specifically for cavalier and under the wheel manufactuer's, they listed Motegi. Which i have the 18" DPK's... I placed the order over the phone and the guy asked for the car info.. cavalier yada yada, rim make and manufactuer... You'll get them in 2-3 days. Got them today and they don't freaking fit my wheels.. WTF!!! I called them and said look, they don't fit send me the right ones. The only come with inner diameter of 67mm, 72.6mm, or 73mm... soo... he asked me to get a ruler with mm on them and i get a measurement of 70mm roughly and exactly 2 3/4 inches. So i get off the phone with discount tire direct and contact motegi themselves, and they guy says the hub bore is 72mm.. ??
What the hell should i do? I've looked at several other sites and no one lists anything for the sizes i need...
the ones they sent me were the 72.6mm...durrr.
get a piece of sandpaper and either a) sand a little off of the outside of the ring, or b) sand a little off of the inside of the wheel hub. .6 mm is not very much at all.
Its a spacer to fill up the gap between your aftermarket wheel and stock hub on the car. They are there to make sure when you tighten your wheels, they go on straight and center. If they are not, this is where alot of aftermarket wheel vibrations occurr...
Well i called up Motegi again, this time they gave me part # HR-705710... If you look at that, sorta looks like 70mm and 57.1 inner... maybe that will be it.. who knows. Ordered a set threw JEG's so we'll see on friday hopefully...

This is a bad idea. The whole point of the rings is to properly center the wheel. You'll never get it perfect trying to sand it down!

not to mention that the hub rings take stress of the studs and center it on the hub. without hub rings the weight is centered on the studs. usually people without hub rings run into problems of shearing off studs

Wild Weasle nailed it man terrible idea to sand unless you can sand an absolute round circle even on all sides. Try www.1010tires.com I had to find a really odd size for a set of old eagle alloys for some one and no problem they have all kinds of sizes. But if you get the wheel install kit for the extra $15 you get lugs and valves as well as the rings, you just have to specify sizes in the notes or call them.
I got mine from Discount Tire Direct through and Ebay auction last year for my winter wheels. I had no issues. Worked perfect.
