Show me your silver wheels w/ black lug nuts
Saturday, December 09, 2006 7:09 PM
At the end of the month I will be ordering my 17" hyper light Nex-O PX-5s and 225/45/17 Kumho Ecsta AST tires from Wheel Max. I will also be ordering some McGard Spline Drive lug nuts, but I can't decide whether to stick with the old standby of chrome lug nuts or go with black ones to break up some of the silver on the lower part of the car?

Here are the wheels:

Here is a side view of the car:

If anyone has silver wheels with black lug nuts, please post your pictures so I can see what they look like. Any opinions are greatly appreciated as well. Thanks in advance.

Are you serious? Come on J to Envy.....they are @!#$ lug nuts...either black or silver.....does it make that big of a @!#$ difference....I can understand your last post about show me your 5 spoke wheel cuz thats the type of wheel you were looking for and didnt know what style, but the color of lug nuts? I think your being a lil too nit picky over something that you can easily see yourself. Thats my opinion, normally I dont do stuff like this but to be honest this is just too much.....either black or silver on a silver rim.....jesus h christ.....

When I'm spending $80-$90 on these lug nuts it does matter. I don't want to get black ones and then decide they don't look right or vice versa.

this thread is retarded. Take a picture with silver lugs, open it up with paint and put black over them.

Wow! Apparently all the a$$holes on this site have nothing better to do tonight than make unnecessary replies to this thread.

glad you ordered the wheels....cant wait to see um on ur car.

to be honest they are sunken in enough that the black wont make much of a difference. the silver ones i have look jsut fine. Now the center caps on teh other hand.....well.....letjust say i have something special in store for them

Finally, a non-sarcastic reply. Yeah, I'm thinking I will just go with the black ones to break up the silver of the wheels a little. So, what do you have in store for the center caps or is it a secret ?

after thinking about it, black might slightly give it a tacky look. go w/ silver.

its nothing about being @!#$s, its the fact that its being a little picky. ive seen alot of your threads in here and i usually stay out of them cuz its not my car so i dont really care what you do or what you ask for but come on now. with such a specific request like this, why not just open up paint or go to the i.m. forum and have someone do a quick chop for you.

If you had a different colored car .. then id say black or chrome. But, since you do have a silver car, I'd stick with silver. I can't want to see pics of those wheels on your car

I would stick with the same color lugs as the rim think of when your driving with silver rims it would have the black circle look and vice versa, I think black on black or silver on silver but ultimately it's your decision

Hum... sounds like it'll look good. I actually think the center caps don't look too bad so don't worry, I won't be stealing your idea .

Yeah, I understand that I come off as very picky, but that's because when it comes to my car I am very picky. I am not going to waste $90 on lug nuts only to decide I should have gone with a different color ya know?

Yeah, I am going to stick with the chrome McGard lugs. If they made silver ones I'd get silver, but chrome will look just as good.

Yeah, I can't wait to see them on the car either. I will be ordering them right around Christmas so I will post pictures as soon as I get them .

Yeah, I will be getting the chrome McGards.

Those are the best looking wheels I've ever seen. They look great on your car and seeing them on your car makes me even more excited to order them and get them on my car A.S.A.P.

So, just to remind everyone... I will be getting chrome McGard Spline Drive lug nuts . Thanks for the posts, good and bad. Keep an eye out for pictures of the car with the wheels and lugs within the next month.

Even though you've already made up your mind, here's a shot of my old silver K1's with my black mcgard spline drive lugs. Just a word of warning, make sure anyone working on your wheels doesn't use an airgun on the locking lug, as the directions from mcgard state. I had a locking lug snap in half and had to have it torched off, thus sacrificing the wheel. So anyways...

...on to the pic.

they look even better on my while K1's.

don't have pics, but i replaced the stock GT lugs and caps with black lugs.

I personally like the look.

On yours it can go either way.

Print these out and show them to the people who mount and balance your tires as a warning of why not to use airguns on locking lugs.

I wish I could mount and balance my own.
