Tire Choices for Z24 Rims

I have a set of 16-inch Z24 wheels on my sedan and I am shopping for some new tires. The ones I have are Cooper Zeon ZPT tires (link) which lasted 3 years and 31,000 miles. I might just get another set of the same ones, but browsing around Discount Tire's website, they have some Falken Azenis that are supposed to be super quiet (link). It might be worth the extra $6 bucks per tire if they are really something special. Something quiet would be nice because I do a lot of highway driving. I am not into autocross or anything, but a good all-season all around tire is what I'm lookin for. Which would you go with, or something else entirely? Oh, the size is 225/50R-16.

No experience with the Falken's myself, but a very smooth, quiet, all season performance tire that I have owned that I loved are BFG CompTA _R4 (they come in various speed ratings). I owned a set of ZR4's, and they are by far the quietest tire I've ever ridden on, and handled excellent, wet, dry, or snow. Not sure if they are available in the appropriate size, though.

i second that... (check the classifieds) but i just recently bought some new tires for my steelies. i wish i liked the z wheels then as much as i do now...

as far as tires... i did a lot of researching and whatnot before i bought my tires. i wanted all seasons as well. ive heard the same pro's and cons back and forth form tire to tire... also heard, "all seasons=no seasons", "all seasons are a waste, you're better off with two sets if you really want the best results"...my decision came down to price because i wanted some decent tires, but didnt want to spend more than i needed.

tires.com has a tire comparison feature (or at least i think thats the site) where you can select several tires and then compare the test rankings side by side...

I looked around a lot before I bought my last set of tires (which was just within the last couple of months), and I ended up buying a set of Nexen N5000's. I've been really happy with them so far. We've already had every type of weather imaginable since I've put them on...snow, ice, rain, and near-summer heat, and they've performed well in everything. I just looked at discounttire, and didn't see them there, but you might find something similar. They're an all-season directional that really seems to shed water and snow well...better than I'd expected. Only time will tell how they'll last. And, they aren't too noisy, either...which is also a bonus. At a minimum, they're keepers until I upsize or purchase some summer wheels.
