if i remember correctly theres a boot over the ebrake in the sunfires, can this boot be used on a cavalier(since the center console isnt the same) or am i better of making it out of scratch ?

Not on the 96 console. You'd have to make something custom for that. The 95-99 Sunfire boots are very specific to the console and cover both the shifter and the brake.

I recommend you get your hands on a 2k+ console, which are the same in all j-bodies, and have an ebrake boot. They're not difficult to retrofit. I think you just have to make a small bracket to get it in properly.
