I have a convertible with 2.5 inch pipes headers, whole bit, I am wondering if I could quiet it down with some sound deadener? With the top up or down it is still loud. Where do I purchase sound deadener and will it help me out? I really dont want to hear my exhaust as much.
What should I do?
Thanks
Chris

I dont know how well the spray on stuff from walmart works, but you could give it a try.
The dynomat is really pricey, like $40 dollars for about a 2' x 2' square. I dont know how much that would work either tho being as you have a vert.
Is it your exhaust that's so loud? You could change the mufflers or add a resonator to quiet it down.
The performance hit you'll take from that is probably less than what you'll take from the amount of sound deadening material you're going to need to drown it out.
One of my buddies had a 1991 GMC Sonoma 4x4 extended cab. He put Dynamat all over the cab interior, including the firewall. On the Dynamatted floor, I think he put a layer of carpet underpadding. Actually a nice quiet ride, despite having 31" Pirelli Scorpion A/T tires.
